As far as ME2 love interests go you have seem to have three options:
Body (Miranda)
Personality (Tali)
Face (Jack)
Throw in the ME1 girls and you get:
Brains (Liara)
The girl next door (Ashley)
It really just sounds like people choose based on the aspect they find most important.

I think Jack's personality is fine as it is. I can understand what she's been through. Hell, I even see a little of myself in her.
But her hair did stop me from romancing her... If she were a friend I wouldn't tell her what to wear, but if she were a girlfriend things will definitely be different.
Would it be nice if Bioware releases a DLC that gives us the choice of putting a wig on her? Absolutely. At least then I'd be able to see her in a romantic light.

A shallow question I know, but I noticed how unpopular she is and wondered what the reasons were especially when I compared her to Miranda. I know most people liked Miranda for her .. appearance and character second. But what if Jack had a full head of hair, would that change her preconceptions ?
Also, if she was to grow her hair in the second game, what hair style would she have ? Which colour would suit her ?
Jack is not popular because most people are intimidated by her personality, to comes on strong alot of people dislike Jake and or Miranda for very Sallow reason... Jack and Miranda Outter personalities are just defenses to protect themselves from getting hurt emotion... Miranda freezes you out and Jack just violently pushes you away. I don't think the hair style has anything to with it.. Jack is attractive in her own way... but then that just me.. I have meet and be around ALOT of people...
That's for sure(the intimidation part anyways), there isn't 1% of the forumites in here, who could handle either of them(non-violently), regardless of gender-specificity.

Women ARE generally more gifted than men communicatively and emotionally.Luc0s wrote...
People stop the arguing about if women are or aren't equal to men. It's not that hard to get your fact straight.
NO, women are NOT equal to men when it comes to physical performance. I man's body is simply stronger and more capable than a woman's body.
YES, women ARE equal to men in all other aspects, such as the law, human rights and intelligence.

Speaking for myself, the answer is no. Miranda is far more a teamplayer and understands the importance of the mission you are on. Jack on the other hand, I wish I had the option to leave her on Purgatory.
As for ME3, I made sure she died in all my playthroughs, so I can't help ya there.
You can leave her. You don't need to recruit all the party members to succeed in the mission.
How? You have to recurit Jack to advance the plot. No Jack no Horazion mission.

I personally don't find the bald look generally attractive, nor the tattoos, but Jack has a truly beautiful face.

Hair might make her look a bit cuter, but probably not as badass. Hmm...

There's nothing you can do after that, because she's all "go away and leave me alone".
It's hard to talk to her, but I actualy believe that is by design. You can't say anything "right" with her, she will always say something back.
Found it especialy a nice touch, how she completely blows you off if you accept her proposal for casual sex.
It is by design. And it's got nothing to do with her being hard to talk to. You get to a certain point, and if you're a Male Sheperd you can continue down the romance path.. But if you're a Female Sheperd, no matter how nice you've been to her, she completely shuts down and won't talk to you anymore. She misinterprets attempts at friendship as attempts to sleep with her and will tell you, in no uncertain terms, that she's not interested in women. But I didn't want to romance her, I just wanted to befriend her. I didn't even get a chance to tell her that, because she just won't talk after that. What it boils down to is this: "I have nothing more to say because my writers didn't give me anything more to say unless you're male and trying to boink me."
Bioware needs to look at this. It would be nice if there were friendship conversations you could have if you're not romancing a particular character. All the romances NPCs cut off like this... Tali right after her shared suits conversation, for instance. She literally has nothing more to say to a Female Sheperd, not even about the final mission. It's even more annoying given that there were no f/f or m/m options for romance, which means people playing homosexual Sheperds had shortened conversation trees with all prospective romances - that's a whopping 6 characters who won't talk to you after a certain point.

Jack is not unpopular, it's just that most people are shallow and go straight for Miranda, and since Miranda and Jack hate eachother, so they hate Jack.

And then there are people who don't like either and go for Tali

No. Jack is perfect the way she is. She doesn't need to be turned into some generic action movie/game female *cough* Miranda.
^^
If Jack gets 'Miranda hair' in ME3 I will freak!
That would be awful. I say, let the woman go with no hair. She looks great without it.
