Would Jack be more popular if she had great hair ?

I don't blame her for being bitter, cynical and not trusting anyone.
She got ****ed over by Cerberus and by the world in general.
I'll nurse her back to health though, giving her the love and affection she needs.

Ending up in most (I think about half) of the people who'll play this game, never really getting through to Jack, and therefore never getting to know her.
She'll remain an unknown person to most, being feared, hated and misunderstood by a multitude of gamers.
Which is well done by Bioware, adds into her having a hard shell and being misunderstood. (and yes, the whole damaged girl thing is a bit of a cliché, but it's well done in this game imho)

I think her face and lips are the best. I don't mind the hair, and fact if you were to add any it should be punk or short. I don't even mind her chest. I don't think all the girls should look like Miranda and Samara. The only thing I don't like is some of the tattoos. I know they go with the whole convict punk thing, and I like some of it. Just some aren't that well done in my opinion. Differently not a deal breaker though.

I don't hate her, I just play as a femshep so after you finish the loyalty mission and stuff she just says ****** off. Really? I assume she is less of a **** if you play as a maleshep but come on. You rescue her and let her get revenge and she pretty much ignores you afterwards.
Slip up by Bioware. You'd expect Jack to be less guarded and more forthcoming with regards to femsheps. Maybe not exactly "girl power" talks but something along that line.

Personally I think she'd be more interesting if her humour came out a little more, and if she had more lines in game, or more cutscenes rather. She was rather pretty when she smiles.
From her first character reveal trailer, I was given the impression that while she was a tragic figure covering up her many surgical scars with tattoos, she took it all in stride having accepted herself for what she was forced to become and could even joke about it.
Fighting gave her existence meaning. Is it any surprise she revels in it?
But that said, I liked what I saw of Jack in the beginning. By the end of it I wanted to see what else there is to her. All the characters' personalities have already been established and revealed in their own way, it's just needing that extra mile to see how much further from there they can develop as people.
It could be the limited time, money and console memory constraints at fault.
But getting back to the topic at hand.... No. Jack doesn't need hair to be popular.

I think it's the initial outfit that throws people off as well and not the tattoos and lack of hair. That outfit not something very suitable combat to wear really. Hell, a tube top would've been better at least. I switched her to her alternate outfit (the black skintight shirt) once I got it so at least it seemed like a better choice over her default appearance.TobiasRieper wrote...
It's the looks and the initial attitude which scares most people off though.

And it's not just the initial attitude. Unless you romance her as paragon, she really doesn't soften up that much to you to at least consider you a friend. It's either develop a paragon romance with her or sleep with her and she tells you to f*ck off. Otherwise, you learn a bit more about her and basically tells you to f*ck off when you tell her you don't have feelings for her.
If you could at least be a friend with her later on, then I think people would like her character more and she would be much more popular.

There's a difference between the two, and a subtle yet important mistake made by the person you're quoting.
There's nothing wrong with a badass, it does not automatically equal a bad character. Wrex emphatically is a badass, and he's a great character.
Jack isn't a badass, she's a caricature of a badass. She's outwardly everything you think of when you hear "badass", just turned up to 11 when they should have stopped at 10. That 11th degree badassery is there to cover up and protect the squishy damaged bits inside of her. She isn't a badass archetype, she's a survivor archetype, with a badass candy coating to hide that fact from everyone around her.
Now Jack's character isn't necessarily a bad one because of this, as some people obviously like cracking through that hard candy shell to get at the chewy bits inside, and more power to them. All I know is, I was simply trying to learn more about her as a character after completing her loyalty mission, and she told me to dump Tali if I wanted my questions answered.
I can imagine at that point my Shepard walking away from her muttering under his breath "Fat chance Baldy McBodyart, you'll be floating away from the ship via the nearest airlock before that ever happens."

I don't find Jack attractive. But, then again, I'm not attracted to 13 year-old boys.
lol
And also if I would have posted sooner I would have posted a humerous anecdote about how everything is better with great hair, but personally I wouldn't mind seeing the option for different hair, but that won't happen. Also I really didn't care, I didn't like her because I found her annoying and disruptive.

Im not none of them, during the recruit mission she's a badass who tears up the ship but once she's on Shepards team she's reduced to "volus biotic god", next to useless.Gill Kaiser wrote...
Jack isn't actually unpopular. She was unpopular for a while when all people knew about her was from her heavily Flanderizing trailer, but so far people who have actually played the game seem to regard her as a good character.

A shallow question I know, but I noticed how unpopular she is and wondered what the reasons were especially when I compared her to Miranda. I know most people liked Miranda for her .. appearance and character second. But what if Jack had a full head of hair, would that change her preconceptions ?
Also, if she was to grow her hair in the second game, what hair style would she have ? Which colour would suit her ?

Admittedly, I would probably like her a bit more (or dislike her less) if she had awesome hair. But, she is just such a crass, unrefined vessel of hatred that I find little of redeeming value in her. I know that she has suffered and that her mind is still reeling from trauma but she's still an ass. She's just too butch for me.

*shrug* I liked her as she was - at least she had a full compliment of fingers and toes and didn't moan about how hard it was to be perfect
