Hello, As you can probably tell I am new to these forums. So Hi :D
But I am not new to the Mass Effect series. I played the first game on PC and loved it! I am thinking about buying the sequel but first I have a couple of questions...
Okay first, for fellow Pc users. Would my computer run the game alright?
Here are my specs...

Graphics card-  PNY 250 PCI-E NVIDIA Graphics Card 512mb
Processor- 2,4 Quad Core
Memory(RAM)- 3GB

Sorry I'm a bit hazy of details, I am not currently on my gaming computer.
Now, my second question is. Is the game worth it? Does it improve upon the last? Would you reccomend it?
And are there any problems with the Pc version? Glitches, faults etc. ?

Thanks.:)

Your system should run just fine, I have similar if slightly higher specs.

Game is definitely worth it!!! MUST BUY

Other than random tech problems few people have (see Tech Support forum) the primary glitch seems to be occasionally ending up on top of walls and such but can't get down. Quicksave often, minor annoyance.

I have similar specs on my PC and it runs without any problem, meaning never noticed a slowdown in frame rate, freeze etc.

I love the game. Playing it for 3rd time now. Was totally worth it. One of the best games I've played so far, and I've played a lot. While some people are unhappy with the changes, I enjoyed the game a lot, but thats just me.

Very few and only minor bus.

It should run fine, I have an ATi 4770 which is pretty similar performance to the nvidia 250, the 250 being slightly better. The rest of the spec sound fine.

I can run on 1280x1024 4xAA on pretty much full settings. The only thing I had to turn down was the number of cinematic lights, for some reason they were crippling performance. The game tends to get a bit dark and shadowy at times during conversations with full dynamic shadows but only 1 cinematic light, but your card has more memory bandwidth that mine so that might just be an issue for me.

Other than that small thing which I hardly notice, the game look absolutely amazing and I've yet to see a graphical glitch in all my hours of playing.

Its worth it IMO. Everyone has their different views. Good story. Wee bit shallow but the cast is ineresting. Either way you look at it its another part of an overall good story.

If you really liked ME1 then you will most likely like ME2. They changed around some core gaming mechanics for the second game, especially combat.

There are several areas where ME2 is just better.

Definite improvements
- Graphics: Massive improvement, especially in the facial rendering.
- Normandy: Bigger, better and you have your own private loft
- Paragon/Renegade dialog options: You can now interrupt a conversation when prompted to get extra paragon/renegade points.
- Mapping powers to hotkeys:  You don’t have to go in and out of the fly wheel so often.

This list is more about changes that have been made that are more of a mixed bag depending on your own personal opinion. Some people like them and other people hate them.

Other Changes
- Ammo is limited: This is a major change in the game play. Now you have to essential find ammo to use your weapons. Really they are disposable heat sinks but it is the same mechanic you find in most shooters. You kill enemies and pick up their clips automatically by walking over them.
- Mako is gone: Now you are dropped off in a shuttle and you go by foot everywhere
- Money troubles: It is a lot more difficult to make money in ME2. You don’t find weapons and upgrades to sell anymore for extra cash. Also, you need to buy fuel for your ship and probes to harvest minerals.
- Upgrade system: You no longer swap various upgrades between multiple weapons at will. They just don’t exist anymore.
- Upgrades are harder to get: In ME2, some upgrades cost money and others cost a certain amount of special elements that you find probing planets. If you don’t have enough for a certain upgrade, you will have to grind for a while to get it.
- Levels end unexpectedly: In ME1, you could walk around and collect stuff on a lot of the side missions after you finished the mission. It was not over until you went back to the Normandy. Now, if you click on that last action to complete the mission, it ends with a cut scene or you are automatically on the Normandy with no way back. Save often...
- Scanning: It is slow, even with the scanning upgrade. Be prepared to spend some serious time just scanning planets for resources and retrieving them with probes.
- Traveling between solar systems in a cluster costs fuel: You have to buy fuel and probes and if you don’t use them carefully you will end up spending a lot of money.

And last but not least, bathrooms... If you ever wanted to know where people make on a spaceship or space station, they have included that too. There is one for men and one for the ladies. None of that Ally Mcbeal crap.

Overall, I really like ME2 but it feels like a very different game then ME1 a lot of days. There are still a lot of great new elements to explore and I am looking forward to starting a second play through. Probably more information then you needed but here it is anyway.

So far I am greatly enjoying it! I've been playing it for a while now.  I was little let down by the lack of exploration, Especially in the Citadel. But apart from a few miner hiccups I love it! :)
