     I know it makes me worry.  I know that EA allows BioWare a great deal of liscence but right nowe EA isn't doing to well economically.  EA shares haven been in the teens since 2009 and had not been so low since '99.  I know some gamers do not like to talk buisness, but when all things are said it is a buisness. 

     The press for DA:O and Mass Effect were pretty decent, but when BioWare is the creator you can expect the product to be fairly engaging.  Baldur's Gate, and sequels, were beyond anything I could have expected (my introduction to BioWare), I still maintain that KotOR is the greatest Star Wars story to date, I still play ME1 - three years after its release.

     I was very happy when I finished DA:O, the world and every part of the game captured my imagination.  ME2 was great, some of the dialogue is the best I've heard ( Joker is such a tool.  I have to spend all day computing PI because he plugged in the Overlord)  and while I was not a huge fan of the combat overhaul, it worked.  I will never forgive EA for killing Westwood studios though, and I think they may have learned that lesson.

      I am worried about EA because of how the company supports products.  Have you ever had technical issues with EA?  Have you ever been able to resolve them with EA represenatives?  I have not had much luck so I have little faith.

      Finally I am worried that the idea to generate larger sales will result in losing the niche I enjoy, which BioWare has done so well for all their existence.  The way DLC is pushed seems to alienate some of the playerbase but I'm not sure how much is lost because of this.  It is good that the DRM issues seems to have calmed down.  I hope SW:TOR will afford BioWare a degree of independence that seems to be declining. 


  It is true that EA is hurting, as all in this slump are.  BioWare has and continues to make great entertainment, and I hope this will never change.  It seems that EA is affording BioWare the independence they need to be creative and produtive.  EA still has credibility issues, but hopefully BioWare can show they have what it takes to produce and keep the Reaper that is EA from ruining a good thing.

it means Bioware gets more money to use to develop games and their games can be promoted better. I'm not a mindless EA hater. The companies that went under they went under for good reason they started making crappy games so people stopped buying them. Bioware makes great games

As long as EA does not tell them the main verse of NIN´s Head Like a Hole like a mantra... If EA is more money for promotion and development; great; better games.

As long as EA lets the companies that they aquire to operate as they have been before EA aquired them and don't try to make game design decisions that the developers need to make themselves I don't see any problem with EA owning Bioware. If they start to dictate how Bioware makes their games I think you would see them ruin yet another gaming company like they did when they aquired Origin Systems and destroyed Ultima Online. They seemed to have learned their lesson from what they have done in the past and they are letting companies like Bioware have complete control over their own game design, which means that they are only a cash cow for great game design developers like Bioware....

EA has killed a good many companies in the past, westwood etc., but if they can let BioWare and/or other companies do what they do best, creating good games, then EA is all fine by me. I also think that EA has learned their lesson now...
