It took me a few hours of playing around with paint.net to figure out how to use it. Paint.net is easier to use than gimp but gimp has functionality that I can't find in paint.net so I use them both. To answer your original question they are easy to use hard to master

Celrath, or someone who knows, i've managed to make 1 Sig Bar on Gimp & 1 unfinished Sig Bar on Paint.NET. What's the best file format to save these as? I tried saving my Paint.NET Sig Bar as a JPEG & it's quality suffered even when I set it's Quality to save as at 100%.

Edit: Oops, almost forgot. Just in case it matters, the Sig Bar dimensions are 500 x 34 pixels. (Woohoo! Some actual height to work with! :D)

Those are spiffy! :o Are they free, & do I download them & they go into my puder, or programs?

Now that I think of it, I found it odd that Paint.Net & Gimp 2 didn't have Text Outlines like the Userbar Designer does. Makes text reading harder.

??? That's odd. I saved my Paint.NET Sig Bar as PNG, & when it uploaded to my Picasa Web Album, it changed the Sig Bar's Format to JPG. How did that happen?

That wouldn't happen.

What happen is you made two saves one jpg and one png
then you uploaded the jpg insted of the png you wanted  to upload

I've confirmed that the saved Sig Bar on my puder is PNG, & i've tried uploading it to my Picasa again, & once again after it uploads, it's a JPEG. Could there be a wrong setting on the Picasa, or could something have gone wrong with the Sig Bar as I was saving it on Paint.NET when I saved it in the program? Something screwy did happen to it when I saved it the 1st time, so I resaved it again as a PNG before I uploaded it.

Woohoo! That fixed it!

Previously, I was in my puder file that had the saved Sig Bar, & I right-clicked it, & selected the 'Upload to Web Albums...' option. I take it this method is faulty. :pinched:

I've updated the Paint.NET Sig Bar above to the correct PNG version! :)
