k to simplify it for you justicars are like spectres to the asari. To an asari a justicar is above the law, as the represent justice. so just like shep has a attitude cause hes a badass, samara has her attitude.
Sometimes i do wonder do people actually know what they are playing

I suppose they are similar to Specters as far as the law is concerned, but they remind me more of a Paladin.  Where as a Specter can be morally gray, a Justicar cannot.

I'm not surprised to get flamed, but I am surprised that nobody is
seeing what I'm talking about. There's a lot of fake mood in the Samara
intro, backed up by nothing but other mood. It's unsupported melodrama,
not up to the usual high Bioware story-telling standards.

To all of the people that keep saying "fail" because you didn't do her loyalty mission yet...lol, they all fail.  It doesn't even reveal anything relevant to Justicars besides the fact that nothing that's considered an abomination of society will be allowed, no matter who it is.  And yes, I think I get what you're saying.  It's basically left up to the users own interpretation of the environment...which doesn't really give you much in the way of facts.

Apparently, baseless complaints are often on the internet...

Just my opinion, but Bioware dropped the ball with the Samara character.

Now before I actually get started, let me admit I haven't played the whole game through yet, and in fact I haven't even done Samar's loyalty mission.  But I'm in enough to have a lot of unanswered questions: see below.

[begin rant]

I'm told I'm supposed to tremble in fear and awe because Samara is an "Asari justicar."  Woo-woo-woo, an Asari justicar.

I known I'm supposed to be awed and a-feared because the volus and asari cop are awed and feared.  But what is this thing I'm supposed to be in awe of?  So far as I can tell, just a female Charlie Bronson type roaming around dispensing vigilante justice according to some "code" that I know absolutely nothing about.

How do you get to be an "Asari justicar?"  Are you born that way?  Is it something genetic you get from your parents?  Are justicars a species or just regular Asaris who pass a civil service exam?  Or do you go to justicar school and get a degree?  Or do you just wake up one morning and decide to be a justicar?  How many of 'em are there?  Are they organized?  Who made up the "code?"  What are its principles?  And basically, any other question you might decide to ask because you won't find any answers in the game, at least as far as I can tell.

Bioware decided to skip actually explaining any of this crap and instead just awe you out with attitude.  Doesn't work for me.  Makes it even worse that the voice actress always talks in these melo-dramatic "fear me for I am a justicar" tones.

p.s. You'd think they'd have something better than silicon for bad breast implants in The Future.

most of these questions are answered after her loyalty mission when you speak with her on the normandy

I give Bioware lots of points for having Samara be the only Asari I haven't hated so far (aside from the bartender matriarch with the Krogan father.) I usually don't like justice obsessed characters either, but the Justicar code is surprisingly low on hypocrisy.

You're either among the worst trolls ever or you have a desperate need to wave your epeen on the Internet. Heaving baseless insults at people who dared express an opinion on a public forum.

I can do that too, watch this: You are a deviant who fantasizes about forming a long term relationship with the graphical representation of a few lines of code.

It's no more intelligent when I do it, is it?

I found all the side characters to be difficult to take seriously as it is, but not any moreso for Samara than any other. They're all supposed to be super duper elite heroes but the second they get into combat they all seem to drop dead, leaving me to wipe out an entire enemy platoon by myself (three playthroughs like this now).

Why all the "mood" and "attitude" coming from the NPCs about Samara?  Because the vast majority of in-game characters know exactly one thing about Justicars:  A Justicar shows up, people start dying.
Why? They don't really know beyond mostly rumors and vague generalities.
What puts you on their todo list?  No idea.
Does their idea of justice line up with your idea of justice? Probably not, since you put criminals in prison or through some kind of behavioral modification and they put them in the grave.
If I was Joe Public, man on-the-street, I'd be pretty freakin' scared of them too, even if I thought I was perfectly law-abiding.
Since I'm Shepard, king-bad-ass-of-the-galaxy, at most a bit cautious while I'm evaluating the situation.

Yes, it's clear that a primarly Asari world, with a "leader" who is Asari, with Asari in other positions of power (including the Matriarch bartender) would have no idea what a Asari Justicar would be and cream their pants simply because she looks scary.

Yeah I don't like what they did with Samara either.  They had a teenager create this super hottie and then let great grandma do the storyboard on her.  Just who is Samara supposed to appeal to?  Oldies?  Here lets throw an Old gal in the game who is super hot, maybe we'll bring in more sales from old people who don't even know how to use a computer.

If Samara was past the "urge" stage she wouldn't be caressing her breasts and body when she is idle.  She wouldn't be flicking her hair.  And she wouldn't dress in an Sleazy outfits compared to all other Asari women if she was past the "urge" stage.  They basically created an Ultra Liberal body with Ultra Conservative ideals.  Yeah very mixed messages there.  This is just an example of the Left hand at Bioware not knowing what the Right hand is doing.

Samara doesn't want any more children because they are demon spawn.  She only has urges with other Asari because she knows if she had a non-pureblood child it wouldn't be a ardat-yakshi.  She is the last in her line to breed and yet she doesn't want to.  That tells me she is a racist and lesbian and a liar.  She can't possibly be passed the urge stage as I've already indicated.  She dresses more tawdry then all other Asari except the dancing girls.

Just take a look at the mirror image of Samara.  This will shock you.  Lets create a guy and put him in swimsuit briefs.  Now lets make him gay and racist and a sociopathic liar.  Now lets also make him a Vigilante and Knight Errant and Samurai without the armor and sword.  Oh and lets have demon children and lets go hunt them down.  I mean come on, some things are fantastic, but this definitly crosses the line into "what the hell where you smoking" territory.

I do have to admit that anyone who claims Samara is a poorly-written character while simultaneously claiming that they haven't even finished her loyalty quest comes across as being rather silly or being rather stupid. It's a bit like saying KOTOR failed to capture playing as a Jedi while admitting that you'd yet to finish Taris.

I personally didn't particularly like Samara to begin with - I've never been a fan of the violently zealous Paladin-style character. But during and after her loyalty quest, and after I'd opened up Reave, I reckon she ended up being one of my favourite characters. Having a powerful Biotic with both long and short range weapon options was incredibly useful, not to mention the anti-armour and crowd control abilities. *Very* useful when dealing with husks.

You have somehow managed to insult the older people, teenagers, liberals, conservatives, lesbians, chaste people, and.... hell you pretty much insulted every demographic there is.

And whats your definition of old?  And you have a problem with someone being attracted to their own race?

You've got a lot of hostility towards a video game character..... and from your post just about everyone else in the world as well.... were you born this angry or did you work at it?

P.S: Samara was the pureblood not her children. Any children Samara has would be Ardat Yackshi. She stated clearly that the genetic fault was in her. As she stated it only happens to the children of purebloods such as herself. She never said her children were pureblood.

Samara's loyalty mission is one of my favorites...and honestly....Jack and Miranda had a lot more scenes where they showcased their poor attitudes. In fact, most of the character you recruit have an attitude problem. I guess it comes with the territory of many of them being considered outlaws or outcasts.
