Is it possible for your ENTIRE crew to survive? I'm talking about your combat crew AND, the people, it's actually 100% possible, like Kelly Chamber, Dr Chawkwas? I saw a video of Kelly dying but in my playthrough she lived I think.

i did it, on my first playthrough.

It's not difficult at all, you just need to make the right choices for the roles.

As for kelly, the more mission you do after acquiring the reaper IFF, the more people will die in the pods.

if one knows his squad and the roles each character plays, its fairly easy to do the suicide mission perfectly

Oooooh I see. That makes sense, because you give them time to process her. So it's better to do EVERYTHING in a playthrough, and if you want everyone to survive, do it in another playthrough

well, you can still do everything, but you have to go straight throught the omega 4 relay when you get the first opportunity, right after the moment your whole crew is abducted

To those who want it spoiled:

Well, most often the roles are best played with the folowing:

You need these three ship upgrades:

Thanix Cannon [gained from asking Garrus about upgrades.]

Heavy Plating [Jacob's upgrade]

Dual-Core Shielding [Tali's upgrade]

First Fire Team: Zaeed or Garrus

First Specialist[Hacking the Door]: Tali and in some very reare instances, Legion. [Do not try him, however.]

Second Specialist [Biotic]: Samara or Jack

Second Fire Team: Garrus [I've heard Miranda works too]

Person to return the crew: Mordin works every time.

All the while, make sure you always have two loyal members in your sqaud and you will survive.

Interesting.

I've gone through three times on Insanity with everyone surviving, so for kicks I changed it up and had Zaeed lead the First Fire Team (among other changes) and he died. Everyone was loyal and I had every single upgrade in the game.

Have you actually used Zaeed as a leader? I ran through it again, and he died both times.

Here's what has been proven so far:

First Fire Team: Garrus, Miranda, Jacob
Specialist: Tali or Legion (I've used Legion three times and Tali once)

Second Fire Team: Garrus, Miranda, Jacob
Specialist: Samara, Miranda and Jack if you happen to have enough Paragon/Renegade to keep her loyal. I don't trust Jack, however, so I never use her.

Return: Mordin or Jacob (I'm sure there are more, but I've never gotten into it).

My Fire Team: Samara and Thane (Warp and Reave are must haves against the Collectors considering they all use barrier and armor)...

How I did it:

First fire team: Garrus

Tech specialist: Legion

Second fire team: Miranda

Biotic specialist: Samara

Escort: Tali

My own team, meanwhile, consisted of Shep, Grunt and Jack.

No deaths.

Um... I've had everyone survive on every playthrough except my first one (5 out of the 6 total) and that was just a misunderstanding of the mechanics.  I was still thinking in terms of ME1 classes, where tech powers meant techie... Sorry Mordin... 8/

Tali and Legion as Tech Expert (Tube run)

Miranda/Garrus works for both leaders

I'm thinking that anyone sent with survivors makes it. (I've done Zaeed and Grunt on my runs)

Is there a way to avoid the tunnel-runner being shot?

Yes, choose Tali or Legion, and be fast.

Like activate the heat things very very quickly.

Kill collectors en route with extreme prejudice. Don't let harbingers spawn, they will slow you down.

Well I didn't have fully upgraded techs and everyone survived until I had to pick a crew and the rest had to hold off the collectors. I first took Garrus and Grunt, but Tali would die apparently, so I took Tali and Grunt, but then Garrus would die. So I finally took Miranda and Thane and for some reason everyone survived. I couldn't determine how who lives and dies at the very end. I didn't have a fully upgraded crew though. My biotics were upgraded and so were my shields, but my tech damage was one short of a full upgrade. Also only my assault rifles, and sniper rifles were fully upgraded.

No, no, that's not true. On my run using Legion, I waited until the heat timer showed up and hit 20 seconds. The additional time allowed me to take the collectors on without the time pressure. It depends on who you choose as your specialist. A specialist with a high degree of proficiency will be able to close the doors properly. If he/she is lacking, you will be forced to manually push the doors closed. At which point the cut scene showing the specialist's exposed head will pop up and he/she will get blasted in the face.

What I've proven so far: Legion good, Garrus bad. The way the role was described I assumed it need some espionage skills as well and since Garrus is an Infiltrator, I chose him. He died twice before I reloaded and chose Legion.

This is what I've found works best through several playthroughs.

Fire team leader: Garrus, Miranda, Jacob

Tech Specialist: Tali or Legion. I typically pick Tali.

- Tech specialist dies if either the Fire Team leader isn't one of the aforementioned people, or if they're not tech-proficient/loyal.

Second Fire Team: Garrus, Miranda, Jacob

Biotic Specialist: Samara, Jack worked for me (only tested on one instance)

- Biotic specialist will survive if it's anyone else or if the aforementioned people aren't loyal. 1 person from your squad will die otherwise (there seems to be a certain order).

Escort: Anyone, so long as they're loyal. Recommended: Mordin.

Team: If you didn't bring Mordin, bring him. He has a tendency of dying while staying back.

Definitely possible, takes a lot of work, but possible. Basically you need to finish EVERYTHING involved in surviving the mission prior to getting the IFF, loyalty missions, ship upgrades, etc. Then once you get the IFF IMMEDIATELY do Legion's loyalty mission, and then just do something else until the Joker mission happens. Once the Joker mission is done you need to go right to the Relay. Then it's just keeping your squad alive like normal.

If you save Kelly, she offers to come back to your room with a 'special' outfit.

I used Garrus as the team leader, Legion for the door, and Grunt and Legion for the last mission and all survived. You can use Samara and Jack - both will make it to the door!

Incomplete/Inaccurate list.

I'm not going to go through it all because I've only played three times and can't speak for Zaeed, but I can say that Legion works perfectly (2/3 attempts), and that both fire teams work with exactly the same characters.

Also, for returning to the crew Mordin and Tali are the BEST choices, generally--unless you are lacking loyalty on them or want them in your group.  If this isthe case it gets a bit more complicated.  I won't go into it on this forum, but basically anyone with loyalty can succeed at this, but you may prefer to have them for later on.
