A shotgun headshot at point blank range has the same effect as a sniper rifle yes?  Try using an SMG, Geth Pulse, Vindicator or Revenant.  Not everyone is playing a Vanguard and usually people don't have their squadmates shooting a shotgun from long distance.

What does using different weapons have to do with the amount of health to shield ratio that the creatures have? (not being sarcastic here, I want to know)

A bit of knowledge on Newtons:

The force of Earth's gravity on a human being with a mass of 70 kg is approximately 686 N

This would imply that a heavy throw, which is 1200 newtons at base, is roughly double the force that holds you on the ground.

1 lb equals 4.48 N.

Heavy Throw would be the equivalent of 267.86 lbs of force thrown at you, at acceleration which is 9.8(gravity) or 32.2 feet per second squared.

1 Newton is approx. An apple falling to earth.
So think 1200 apples falling on you, at 32.2 feet per second lol.

Good ole Isaac Newton!

Confirmed! I just did the test on the suicide run against a Collector Barrier on Hardcore, using Hurricane Throw. Takes out maybe 70-80% of the Barrier, on eyeballing it. On this setting comparing Unstable Warp against Hurricane Throw for depleting Barriers, Throw is definitely the superior option, considering the cool down factor.

Using the Unstable Warp/Hurricane Throw combo proved even faster than the Heavy Warp/Throw Field combo because I was able to use low cooldown Throw + GPR to clear Barriers, then Jack and the now-available Warp for the Warp Explosion. Fantastic setup.

Especially deadly on the platforms because Collectors apparently have limited flight. As long as you can clear the Barrier before it sets down and aim Unstable Warp just then, everything gets thrown clear off for the mass insta-kill. The limiting factor is really how fast the platform animations come in.

MORE!

98.10 Newtons is the equivalent of a G

This is if your wieght is around 70kg (154 lbs).
10-12g's is the most a normal human can take without just getting knocked out.

That is the equivalent to 10x your body weight.

Here is an example of a human taking only 7g's in a jet: www.youtube.com/watch

Yeah so 1200 Newtons probably works out (if collectors are around say 200 pounds) to them getting hit with about 7 or so times their own weight.

Man, that would smart.
See the guy in the video? looks like he's going to die lol. Around 1:20 is the best till the end.

About the Geth Troopers, their shields go down in one hit, their health goes down in one hit.

This only happens with a headshot from a sniper rifle, unless you're playing on casual.  Overload will remove all of the shields from a trooper with "one hit" and take a Hunter to around 1/4.

I'm not sure we are even playing the same game at this point.
You can do this with a Vanguard using Scimitar Shotgun. Or you can one hit kill them with a shotgun blast to the head with the Eviscerator. This is on insanity obviously. Remember we are talking about Geth Trooper here. If you are refering to Geth hunter, then it needs 2 shots + 4 melee from a Eviscerator without ammo mods, or 4 shots and 3-4 melee's from a Scimitar. Half of those attacks are for the shield, the other half for the health. Just occurred to me that the shotgun does have a damage boost towards shields, so there might be a bit less health. But it's not really a big deal seeing as it takes the exact same number of attacks to bring down.

Just a last comment on insanity. As expected - the community is already greatly exceeding our highest expectations for playing insanity well. You're also figuring out naturally all the advanced tactics we built in to succeed at insanity. The best adept, vanguard, etc. players out there are now BioWare community members and not devs. Pat yourselves on the back.

agreed. i can see how certain things were supposed to be in there and work certain ways. i played vanguard insanity first and then adept insanity. i found adept significantly easier, but vanguard wasn't too hard either. i only had real trouble on the scion/husk part on horizon and the floating platforms on the collector ship.

Great video, has made me start an Adept for my first insanity run (you're right about having other biotics with me - combos work great).. have to correct you though, 98.1N is equivelant to 1G but on 10kg.  So on a 200lb collector it'll hit with 1.34Gs.  Still definitely throw you off your feet, but won't leave a hole in your chest where the throw hit..

For the people dissing Shockwave, I've learned on my Vangaurd that it is castable while moving. So you don't have to stand there getting shot, just space out of cover, stand behind some boxes, and you can move around while it starts up.

Makes it more useful than it might be if you think you have to get yourself blown away to use it.
