I've looked a few pages and don't see anything about this ...
But I was wondering if anyone has used Sten.
I am interested in him as a companion for my next play through, but apparently he doesn't like if you stray off the path to the Archdemon.
And I love exploring and doing side quests. Will this be a problem?

Not only that, he doesn't like helping people, too.
You loose approval point with him if you help someone else.

Sten will attack you if his approval gets low enough. Once you beat him back into line he's quite helpful though.

Yeah, he is rather single-minded at times. But you can try and win his heart by being honorable. Paying the right price for something, and keeping your word as much as possible. Still, I'm not sure I'm ever going to get far into positive rating with him...

I've found that having short chats with Sten is the best way to boost approval. Dragging chats beyond the point where he says there's no point talking anymore starts knocking down his opinion of you!

I usually leave Sten at camp... he's been useful in some situations.. but I guess he can't level up if I don't use him... so many choices...

Sten is a weird companion. There are so many ways to lose favor with him, however, there are also dialogue options which give a lot of favor in one go. Also being direct and completely frank seems to work best with Sten.

I never took him along and still managed to get him to 100 with gifts, dialogue and by retrieving Asala. Shouldn't be too hard.

he turns on you during Sacred Aches questline and say
"Ill take a lead now!"
When you beat him to death, he admits youre better and youll gain some points with him.
Gonna replace him with Orghen now.
