This isn't the worst playthrough to carry into ME:3, but I am about ready to import my human supremacist Engineer. My goal with this playthrough is save every human character (including the crew/Kasumi), with as many alien casualties as possible.
Any help would be appreciated.
Put loyal Kasumi in the hold the line team when she's available.

Also who all outranks grunt in making sure grunt gets taken away by the swarms? Changing that run to make it so Tali dies in the ship battle leaves a blank in that spot next to grunt....choices being between: Mordin Morinth Garrus Kasumi Zaeed Which of them will make sure grunt is the one that gets carried off?
Those two solutions should fully cover my intended playthrough. (also: I'll probably stick unloyal zaeed and kasumi to die at the escort and final boss segments respectively...)
Edit: Also you said the crew that shows up in the epilogue cleaning up the ship is about half of the survivors, but is there any way to know which crew it will pick to show up there?
Thanks again this is probably the last question I'll have in this topic.
...Unless when they release kasumi she totally has different death flags in the final section of the game for hold the line and the occulus attack, that'll probably f- up most of the picks for this thread. :E

I know the answer to this one:: the person taken away in the seeker swarms is ALWAYS the second squadmate you choose in the squad selection menu. Therefore, simply pick a wrong bubbler, then choose Grunt second on the squad screen. (for some reason though, choosing Miranda second is the only scenario that will NOT result in the second chosen member's death. Miranda's buggy as hell/clearly God).
I'm not sure about the other questions. I THINK loyal Garrus, loyal Morinth, and loyal Mordin should be good--Garrus is considered one of the "better" hold-the-liners, and if loyal Grunt + loyal Mordin can both live holding the line, I'd think this scenario SHOULD work...not positive though.

Sorry to bug again with my request but I probably won't get to try that playthrough for a while....Is Mordin, Morinth, and Garrus all loyal a strong enough team to hold the line? Do they all live or are there deaths in that situation?
I wouldn’t mind knowing the answer to this one as well. I’m planning a play through and I’ve got Garrus, Morinth and Mordin holding the line, all loyal. I’m hoping that Mordin will die at that point.

Question: can you survive with an Un-loyal Zaeed and one other squadmate? cause if u do that and subsequently kill Zaeed during his loyalty mission and that last party member is Morinth... THAT would be the worst playthrough......
I asked this question literally a page back. Unfortunately, apparently when you're left with 2 squaddies and attempt to kill off Zaeed, the option to leave him in the fire is gone.
Yeah, I know. It totally sucks. And here I was wasting my time devising ways to save an unloyal Zaeed.

If it's just those three holding the line, then Mordin should be the only one to die there.Szemis wrote...

Here's one: What about Mordin, Kasumi, and Morinth? Will morinth be the only survivor? Or will they all die? (Kasumi can be loyal or non-loyal here)
Also how does the "pull shepard up onto the ship" section work if one of your boss party members dies, is it just the other member and joker pulling you up or does another surviving party member help out? And if so, how does the game decide who shows up as an extra in that scene, or any scenes for that matter? Are "extras" chosen randomly or can you have some small ammount of control on who gets used as an extra or not?

Miranda has unique dialogue before the final section of the mission, so she's not allowed to die before that speech.

Loyals: Jacob, Grunt, Garrus, Mordin, Legion, Thane, Kasumi, Morinth, Miranda
Non-loyals: Tali, Jack, Zaeed
Biotic - Miranda (bring Grunt and Tali, Grunt should die)
So... why and how should Grunt die here? That biotic bubble part gave me a big headache on my last playthrough where Thane was always the volunteer to be taken away by the seeker swarm when I was trying to kill Samara (now that sounds rude). I had to try 3 times before giving up and making Thane the biotic and bringing Miranda along to make sure I got the result I wanted but it still destroyed whatever rp'ing bits and pieces left off for me.
If that part is random, why was it always one squaddie who got taken away for me and how do you determine who should die in that post? Is it because Grunt will be more reckless/aggressive beside a non-loyal Tali? If so, that example will not work as both Samara and Thane were loyal. Btw, very good thread Ecael, was very useful for my "far from an ideal end" playthrough.

Well, if you really wanted it not to be random, Miranda should be in the squad and not the biotic (since she survives every single time). I didn't have a choice, as I went with Morinth instead of a non-loyal Samara.Baris wrote...

My last few tries of that playthrough, Grunt kept dying instead of Tali. So I don't know if it's random, but some characters seem to have a little priority over others for that part.

OK, so keeping Miranda in the squad is the only solution we have here, got it. I wanted to use her as the biotic but it would only work if I didn't mind who got taken by the bugs it seems. Thanks for the answer.

I've always wondered, does Morinth have a loyalty mission? I seriously doubt it, but you never know so I thought I'd ask.
No, she comes to your party already loyal.

Yeah, I usually use a different non-ideal biotic and reserve Miranda and her plot immunity for allowing me to select who dies at that point

You can have Morinth and unloyal Zaeed specifically survive, but the game removes the option to kill him if you only have 2 squadmates.mundus66 wrote...
A question, if you don't have Kasumi which none of us does yet. Cant you have only Morinth and an unloyal Zaeed survive the suicide mission and then make his loyalty mission and have him killed?
