Interesting, I might go back and not recruit Wrex in ME 1 so I can have a full compliment. This prospect sounded silly when I first heard it, now it sounds intriguing.

I just did the suicide mission with this and your figures look exactly right. I forgot about the ship upgrades until it was too late, so Thane and Legion survived the fight, but I killed Thane later anyway. If I had avoided recruiting Zaeed and Legion had died during the space fight, it would be total success.
I did it without doing any male loyalty missions, had Jacob on Tech, Grunt on second team leader, Miranda on Biotic with Thane and Zaeed, and Garrus on escort.

Gamble is of course on Kasumi surviving the HtL section seeing as noticed couple of weeks ago you said you managed to get 3 people killed off whilst they HtL.

Am also going to try that 'women power' playthrough but with a slight difference in that Legion is going to be sent back to Cerberus so will need to make some alterations to take that into account.

Looks good (although you need to correct the Loyals list )

With Zaeed holding the line, I agree that Mordin will be the only one to die. It's possible that Mordin could survive just because of Zaeed, but there's only a slight chance that could be true. Kasumi should be fine since she's above Tali on the defensive ranking.

Not mentioned whether Kasumi is involved in this, so will go on basis of not but add something at the end to explain how can add Kasumi into this and get her killed. I'll also set this up for a 'Normandy armor, sheild and cannon upgrade' but again include one without

Mordin should die but if wanting to be sure, don't upgrade the shield and take Legion and someone else to fight Oculus and Tali should die there, then send Mordin into the vents.

If wanting to include Kasumi, do as initially put, but also don't upgrade the shields and make sure to take Tali and Legion to fight the Oculus, Kasumi will get incinerated when Shields fail.

I'm looking into doing a "Shepard dies" run, and my only real requirement is that I would like to have all crew members recruited. That includes waking Grunt and Legion and recruiting Zaeed and Kasumi. Any tips on how to go about this, and is it possible?  I've only actually finished the game once, so I don't know much about the "hold the line" scores.

I'm thinking that I'll have someone like Zaeed be second fire team leader, have Grunt and Miranda come with me to the final boss, Jacob die in the vents... that's about as far as I've gotten. Who should escort the crew members?


Also, I have yet to decide how many, if any, loyalty missions I will complete.  I think I'll fail all missions I can (Samara, Zaeed, Thane, Tali, etc.).  Other than that, is it recommended that I complete any of the loyalty missions?

Actually, I just looked over your "Shepard dies" link, and I'm amazed it's possible to have everyone die even after completing every loyalty mission... however, the one missing variable is Kasumi. I'm sure, she being a master thief, she can't be very good at holding the line. Would you know of a way to work Kasumi into that method you already have?

I'm thinking having Mordin, Tali and Kasumi hold the line, but I think that may be enough to keep everyone from dieing.

I'm interested in a Garrus and Tali survive, as they're the only ones I'd want to bring into ME3 on my neutral Shep, since they were in the 1st and 2nd I want to see then in the finale. Also a Zaeed and Kasumi survive as imo they are the least likely to return both being DLC characters, so that'd leave my Renegade Shep to be the only person from the squad to make into in the finale.

Too right doubt I'd ever do the above playthrough but... figured would post it in case anyone wants it.

As for failing Kasumi loyalty quest, I really can't see where it would be possible, played it twice but in both playthroughs I played it fairly identical other than a couple of different speech choices, though not the one where you get a 'para/gade' option when speaking to Donovan. Not sure whether that speech could screw it up as Kasumi does advise to 'charm' him, so not tested it yet to see if not choosing one of the 'charm' options screws the quest up. But from what you said bout 20 days ago, if that is still true now, then it shouldn't be too hard to kill her off if needed.

Edit: @LJScribes, if you look a bit up the page, Ecael quoted a 'Kasumi and Zaeed only survive' playthrough that I wrote up (not tested yet) the other day. As for Garrus and Tali only, I think there is one listed somewhere in one of these pages as that is naturally going to be one some people want coz for some insane reason they detest all the new squadmates and just want a ME squad reunion in ME3.

As for a Garrus and Tali playthrough that has Kasumi and all loyalty quests done, I've come up with the below, although I feel it is taking a bit of a potential gamble.

Ship can't be upgraded, there is no way to do this playthrough without ship being scuppered as you are wanting 10 people dead with one of the survivors being an easier kill than others. Also in this I'm going on the assumption you want only the original crew to survive as well so just Joker and Dr.Chakwas

Loyalty quest screwups
Mention Justicars and family when speaking to Morinth during Samara's Loyalty
Don't do Zaeed's loyalty quest until after the suicide mission, then when go do it, take the paragon route and leave him trapped under the rubble (only chance you get to do this is after the suicide mission), he is needed during the suicide mission though to give Tali a chance of survival
Side with Tali during her argument with Legion after both loyalty quests are done.
Beside Legion's loyalty quest make sure to leave 3 others after the IFF mission, this will ensure that only Chakwas is left alive
Side with Jack during the argument with Miranda after both their loyalty quests are done (Jack loyalty won't mean anything because she is the first to die)

Deaths before landing
Jack - No armor upgrade
Kasumi - No shield upgrade (make sure to take Legion and Tali to fight the oculus just to be sure)
Thane - No cannon upgrade

Deaths after landing
Mordin - Missile to the head after going through the vents
Jacob - Taken by the swarm (use a non-loyal Samara and have Miranda as other squadmate, Jacob guaranteed swarm)
Grunt - Shot whilst closing door as Diversion Leader during Biotic stage
Legion - Escorted Dr.Chakwas to safety but Legion dies in process due to non-loyal
Miranda - Dies after final battle
Samara - Dies after final battle

Survivors of Suicide Mission
Garrus, Tali and Zaeed - Tali should survive due to having Garrus and Zaeed with her and her being loyal rather than Zaeed... if Zaeed were to die during the Hold the Line part, extra bonus as don't have to do below.

Deaths after Suicide Mission
Zaeed - left under the burning rubble after taking paragon route through his loyalty mission

Surviving Members going into ME3
Garrus and Tali

Actually between Morinth and Samara, I reckon it would be the latter least likeliest to stay. Morinth is attracted to Shepherd and probably would see it as a conquest to try be the one to truly kill him. Samara is just in it for the cause and if renegade only reason she might be back in ME3 is to try kill Shep



Kasumi is a 'fan' of Shep, so agree that Zaeed more likely to bail as he in it for the money and he stated that he basically getting paid enough to live on for the rest of his life or words to that affect.



Thane, whilst their has been rumours of a DLC to get a cure, the obvious fact is that the player wouldn't need to go do it and thus ensure he still ends up dead.

To the OP. Nice effort, but you have ultimately failed to make the worse Shepard ever to save the galaxy game.

It all goes back to ME1 where you made a few critical mistakes.

Behold the requirements for a 'SCREW EVERYONE GAME!' Or as some one once called it,.

Kill Wrex
Do Liara's mission last so she's crazy.
Virmire Kaidan
Leave Garrus on the Citadel, never recruit him.
Do not give Tali the Geth Data
Romance and screw Ashley.
Kill the Council, Anderson in charge.
Put a Gun in Conrad's face.
Decimate all livestock on exploreable worlds for ****s and giggles.
Kill Rachni Queen
Execute all Quest related NPC's you can! (Shiala, ect.)
Only then will you *really* be a complete dick.

As for ME2. Good stuff there. Not sure if you can manage to survive with only 1 loyal squad member, but who knows.

It is possible to come out of the suicide mission with just one loyal squad member. Everyone surviving with just 1 loyal is impossible, but Shep just needs 1 loyal and you need to basically ensure at least one of your good hold the line people (that isn't loyal) is in that position with at least one squishy non-loyal squadmate, so that they end up surviving.



Also sorry to say it but Ecael's playthrough of ME is more worse playthrough than the one you listed.



If you note, Ecael talks of how Shep is lonely... ie... zero romance. whereas with yours he acted like a sap in ME romancing Ashley

Still though, she costs $7 just to recruit, so I think BioWare will take that into consideration. On the other hand, most people will still have Zaeed just because he's free.

Except this is shepherd's story and the only save files that will be considered for import is the autosave at the end of the mission (only created if Shep survives) or any manual (or auto) save after that.
