To achieve such a state, fail Thane's LM, side with Miranda when arguing with Jack, skip Kasumi's and Jacob's loyalty missions. I don't remember, but you should be able to keep both Tali and Legion as not loyal if you present the evidence during Tali's LM and side with her in Legion argument. You can then kill Zaeed in his LM

 

That looks pretty good except I already recruited Zaeed because as I said I want to run with him and Kasumi as my squad for the entire game. I might have to track down that calculator though and mess around with it myself a bit because it looks like fun. XD

 

Are you recruiting everyone? You mention doing as many loyalty missions as possible. Depending on if you recruit everyone and doing many loyalty missions, it might be hard to have only Miranda, Zaeed and Morinth be the only one's to survive. Do you want to save the crewmembers?

Well I would like to do as much content as I can (hence wanting to recruit and loyalty mission as much as possible) but I don't mind leaving one or two behind if I have to, I found a flow chart and constructed something that would require me to leave Legion and Grunt unrecruited (which I don't mind because you get to do the recruitment mission and then still not actually recruit them even though I'll be sad to miss out on Grunt's loyalty mission because headbutting a Krogan is hilarious xD). And I don't want to save the crew members, as this is part of my disaster/kill-em-all run where I try to get as many people killed as possible. ^^ Will Chakwas die if I don't save them?

Since you mention about not recruiting Grunt and Legion, it will make things easier. I would not do either Kasumi, Mordin or Tali's loaylaty mission. You can pick which one not to do. Do all other loyalty missions except Zaeed until after the suicide mission

Here what I'd do

Talk with Tali, Jacob and Garrus about upgrades for the ship as soon as they're on the ship. Do not get the upgrades at that time

Jack dies with no armor upgrade
Take Kasumi and Tali to fight the oculus. Thane will die because of no shield upgrade
Garrus will die because of no weapon upgrade

send Jacob through the vent. He will die

Have Miranda do the barrier. Bring Morinth and either Tali, Mordin or Kasumi. Do not bring Tali, Mordin or Kasumi if that one is not loyal. One of those 3 will die

Have Tali, Kasumi or Mordin be 2nd fireteam leader. Do not have the one who is not loyal be the 2nd fireteam leader. 

Send Miranda and Morinth to fight the proto reaper. Both will survive.

Zaeed and Tali/Kasumi/Mordin will hold the line. If you left the one that is not loyal to hold the line, that character will die and Zaeed should be alive.

Go do Zaeed's loyalty mission and lett him die. Make sure the workers are saved to have the opportunity for him to die

 

Depending on what you plan on doing in ME3, you can now purchase the 3 upgrades for the ship that will give you extra ems in ME3

That's a good option.

I've been messing around myself and came up with this:

Wake Grunt, do not activate Legion.
Skip Mordin's loyalty, fail Tali's, do all the others except Zaeed (and Legion).
Do not upgrade ship.
Oculus squad: Tali & Kasumi
Jack, Thane and Garrus will die on ship.
Vents: Jacob - he will die.
Barrier: Miranda
Squad: Kasumi & Zaeed - Kasumi will die.
Fire Team 2 leader: Grunt - he will die.
Send no escort - crew will die.
Final boss: Tali & Mordin - both will die.
Zaeed, Miranda and Morinth will hold the line and survive.
Do Zaeed's loyalty mission - he dies.
Miranda & Morinth remain alive.

If this works my ME3 will be so empty. XD

I might still take your option, if I decide that my Shepard hates Krogan enough (after dealing with Wrex's insolence by shooting him) to want to leave Grunt unopened. Then I could do all remaining loyalty missions including Mordin's and just fail Tali's so she will be the unloyal one.

I did one play through in prep for ME3 with 'worst possible ending'.  Only survivors were Miranda and Morinth, Wrex dead, etc, etc.  That was a lonely play through of ME3 lol.

If you have at least 5 squadmates left at that point, you will be given the option to send one back with the crew.

This entire thread was so much fun to read, but man, I just can't imagine doing it. I'd be too upset! Maybe it's because I'm still a relative newbie (I've only played the trilogy a few times thus far, although I loved every minute of it). I'm just too invested in the characters and love them too much to go through this.

 

This post was a great reminder for me though of how different each of our experiences can be with this game. This game experience and story movement for instance is completely different from mine, and I love that so many outcomes and decisions are possible. 

 

At the end of this playthrough, I'd half expect Anderson to walk up, shake his head, and shoot Shep just because. (Either that, or the Illusive Man adopts you...)

Dr. Chakwas will still be alive. As Mikefest said, if you have 5 crew members, you can send one back with her as an escort. If you don't, she dies.

Just finished SM, Morinth and Legion survived. But also Miranda and Mordin.

 

- Jack, Kasumi and Thane died on Normandy.

 

- I let Garrus take the vents(which made him die when we came to the tubes)

 

- Took Jacob and Tali with me to get to the tubes where the crew are.

 

- Choosed Grunt as the second teamleader to the tubes.

 

- No help to Chakwas, she didnt make it. 

 

- Choosed Grunt as the second fireteam leader, grunt didnt make it.

 

- Choosed Miranda for the barrier and took Tali and Jacob with me. Jacob didnt make it.

 

- Miranda, Tali, Mordin, Morinth, Legion are the ones who live before the final boss. Took Morinth and Legion with me to fight the boss. Tali didnt make it after I finished the boss.

 

So what am I doing wrong, how should I do in order to get only Morinth and Legion alive?

Are Miranda, Tali and Mordin loyal? If they are, I'm surprised all three survived holding the line. I would've expected at least Mordin to of been killed. If all three are not loyal, then all three should be dead.

 

If those three are not loyal, repeat the mission, but take Miranda and Tali to fight the reaper. Both will be killed. Mordin should die holding the line leaving Legion and Morinth the only to survive.

 I'm still surprised that Mordin was able to survive holding the line. If anything Tali and Mordin should've died leaving Miranda alive.

 

The only suggestion is let them die in ME3, unless you want to go back to a point in ME2 where those three or other squadmates are not loyal and start playing from that point.

I remember I did a playthrough with only Morinth and Thane alive after SM(all squadmembers where also loyal then, except Miranda, if I remember right).

 I remember that I followed this one then(note sure I did followed the list to 100%...). Maybe I could to something similar with this playthrough, you seems to have alot knowledge on this

 

If Miranda had been non-loyal on my latest playtrough(yesterday), would Tali and Mordin died then?  Because if it is so, Mirandas loyality is the main problem here.

Just so I can let her kill herself in ME3 in front of her own daughter right before I kill her own daughter as well. I kinda find that more evil then betraying her for Morinth.

Morinth and Legion survived when fighting the human reaper, Miranda and Tali died while holdning the line. But Mordin survived... So how do I play in order to also get rid of Mordin? Yes, Mordin was Loyal.

 On my first try on the SM when Miranda was loyal and Tali wasn't loyal Tali died and Mordin survived.
