Yes, Mordin was Loyal.
On my first try on the SM when Miranda was loyal and Tali wasn't loyal Tali died and Mordin survived.
You can see that result here:
Try the mission again except have Morinth, Legion and Mordin holding the line. Mordin should die. Send Miranda and Tali to fight the reaper.
