In the final cutscene before Shepard is handed the schematics of the Reaper, only half of your current squad will be shown getting 'ready for the next mission'. If you count the coffins, you'll see that at least 2 people survived.

The Joker mission is pretty funny. If you stand around for a long enough time, a Scion will automatically sneak up behind you and kill you.

I read over everything you gave me. I forgot since some of the characters will die, I can do their loyalty mission. I might change out who dies where. I wanted to play an infiltrator on insanity and may need my handiest people alive until the end. But it helped a lot. Thanks!

No problem.

You can still do everyone's loyalty missions and get XP (I hate doing New Game+). You just need to botch Tali's and Samara's loyalty missions.

Oh, and don't forget - I made a mistake in your playthrough theoretical - Upgrading Armor saves Jack, not Shields.

As requested, what would it take to just have miranda and thane make it out?

That ice queen is perfect for my shep who doesn't care for just about anyone.

She's the only one I've done a loyalty mission for so far.

I'll post the complete theoretical playthrough on this thread:
--Note: This allows you to get XP from all 11 loyalty quests.

-----------------
Final Survivors: Shepard, Joker, Thane, Miranda (Entire crew DEAD)
-----------------

Loyals: Jacob, Grunt, Garrus, Mordin, Miranda, Legion
Non-loyals: Tali, Zaeed, Jack, Samara
Normandy Upgrades: None

-Leave these quests for after the final mission:
   -Thane Recruitment
   -Thane Loyalty
   -Zaeed Loyalty
-Side with Miranda during the Miranda/Jack fight (or Paragon/Renegade)
-Hand over the evidence and traumatize Tali for Tali's loyalty mission
-Scare away Morinth by talking about Justicars, failing Samara's loyalty
-Take Tali with you to fight the Oculus (so Legion dies).
-After the final mission, recruit Thane, kill off Zaeed in his loyalty mission, then do Thane's loyalty mission

Vents - Jacob (dies)
Fire Team Leader - Any
Biotic - Non-loyal Samara (had Grunt and Miranda, Grunt dies)
Second Fire Team Leader - Mordin (dies)
Final boss squadmates - Samara and Tali (both die)
Distraction Team - Miranda and Zaeed

Deaths:
Jack - No Armor Upgrade, died by laser beam
Legion - No Shield Upgrade, incinerated
Garrus - No Weapon Upgrade, impaled
Jacob - Rocket to the face
Grunt - Taken by seeker swarm
Mordin - Shot while closing second door
Tali - Died at final boss
Samara - Died at final boss
Zaeed - Left him to die in the fire he started

Certainty impossible. But in limited numbers, should confuse detection, make us invisible to swarms. In theory.

Experimental technology. Only test is contact with seeker swarms. Look forward to seeing if you survive!

Customizing your ending means more replay value!

And besides, Shepard is probably a Reaper.

D'you know, I thought about making that joke in my post. And now that I think about it... we might be onto something.

Or not. :P Although he's so heavily modified that he could technically qualify as a human/machine creature now ^^ (poor Shep, he's/she's a Reaper and we're trying to kill his/her companions in every way possible... his/her Heroic Blue Screen of Death will be spectacular XD)

Two questions:

1. Do you want to save or kill the Normandy crew/Chakwas?

2. Samara and Jack or Morinth and Jack?

Jack is one of the tougher ones to keep for a 2 squadmate playthrough since she's the only one who can be guaranteed to die in the same spot for the same mistake.

Where theres a will theres a way

If wanting most weapon upgrades/xp then following should work.

Jack - loyal
Samara - loyal
Garrus - loyal
Thane - loyal
Tali - non-loyal after giving evidence to admirals during trial (if wanting to go for real evil route)
Miranda - non-loyal after siding with Jack after doing both loyalty quests
Jacob - non-loyal but make sure you to speak to him to get the ship armor upgrade before Horizon
Mordin - non-loyal
Grunt - non-loyal
Zaeed - non-loyal
Legion - sent back to cerberus

Ship run
Armor upgraded: Jack lives
Shield not upgraded: Tali dies
Cannons not upgraded: Thane dies

Ground run
Vents: Garrus
Fire Team Leader: Doesn't matter who
Biotic: Jacob (take Miranda and Grunt with you, in theory Grunt should fly)
Diversion Leader: Zaeed
Escort: Mordin
Final Battle: Samara and Jack
Door Defence: Miranda and Jacob

Not sure if Mordin can be used as Biotic, if can probably best swapping him and Jacob around on escort/biotic duties, either way the crew should survive. If don't want crew to survive simply don't send anyone with them and just leave the 3 non-loyal members to get slaughtered at the door defence.
