Simple as that. Why? It would be nice to get the maximum power out of all my skills.

Because Me3 will let you get to 60 ;)

Forcing you to choose since you can't max everything is why.

Why do I get the feeling that you think I'm an idiot and you are trying to make a joke of me..?  lol I certainly would like to level all the way up to 60, like in ME1.

Yeah... But if I spend my points "wrong", I get left with a single point that I can't use for anything!! =( doesn't really matter lol I just wanted to make a thread about something haha. :o

Actually wasn't making fun of you at all. I'm pretty convinced you'll be able to continue leveling in ME3. They can't kill you off again, that'd get kinna old.

While I'm not up for maxing out all my skills, some more points would be nice.

Especially on my Soldier. I wanted a fun skill like Inferno Grenades but I have to settle for AP ammo instead because I can't max Incendiary Ammo which basically does the same thing.

Also, I hate that I can't max all of my squadmate's abilities. They only have 4!

I understand the challenge of wanting to customize Shep with the points you're given but c'mon!

On my first playthrough I thought I'd be able to max all of their powers and now I'm stuck with gimped squadmates. At least make it so that I can re-assign their points.

Yeah I thought the level 30 cap was a little lame especially since my ME1 save I was level 60. But all that aside if their plan is to let you level to 60 in ME3 they should at least give you enough points to round out your toon, and not have like 1-3 points left over.

Because that's what Bioware decided

Well, it's all relative. In ME1, you had three tiers to a skill (regular, advanced, master), and a bunch of points in-between. Here, they just tie those into four seperate tiers. The extra points are basically like getting some ME1 skill to advanced or something and just going maybe one or two parts further down that line.

I'm thinking that Bioware is going to release an expansion that will up the ME2 level-cap a bit, and maybe provide another opportunity to add another skill (a base-class skill, not a Loyalty skill) to an existing class. Would allow for some additional customization and the opportunity to fill in the gaps that some of the classes have.

I kinda doubt that we'll be taking ME2 characters straight to ME3 without any translation.

It's not gonna make that much difference anyhow unless they add MORE SKILLS to pick from.
