It's speculation. I mean some say it will be DLC squad member. Or maybe its a spoof made by Bioware, or maybe she won't be squad member but wil somehow be involved in story. 1 thing for sure, there is an empty squad position (when choosing squad, you can see that of right part), and the 1 observation point in Normandy (opposite from Samara) available. I wish it was for Liara, after dealing qwith Shadow Broker (loyalty mission). But it could be this Kasumi thief/ninja person.

I'm hearing more talk of how disappointed people are about this character being a human. I don't share said disappointment. I'd just like to have another squadmate. Could change a bit of dialogue here, maybe even the Suicide Mission would change depending on her?



I just like possibilities. Then again, I'm the guy that thought Carth wasn't a whiner in KOTOR so my party member judging abilities may not be too reliable.

Kasumi is a perfectly ordinary Japanese woman's name. End of story. And yes, she's 99% certainly a crewmember. The port observation deck is still permalocked on the Normandy, and there's a conspicuous empty spot in the character selector screen next to Jack, while Zaeed takes the formerly empty spot on the other side of the line.

it addes more missions for ME2 which it really needs

I believe it's been all but confirmed, I know someone did some digging in ME2 files and found a placeholder folder with the same naming convention as the folder that held all of Zaeed's files included was a dossier description and a placeholder piece of concept art for the squad select screen.



I'm interested to see what new abilities she will bring to the team.

This is a fail. No really... what even made you think that a DOA character could get into Mass Effect in any way? This idea is just so badly braindead that it hurts. Why do you even ask?

Let's see... The first thing people thought when they saw/heard the name, was a japanse fighting game (at least, I think it is. Maybe it's a softporn film, I can't really remember). That leads me to believe that BioWare is trying to lure in the anime/hentai/mange/jrpg fans.
The screenshots only add to those fears. The description of the character almost confirms it.
I'm not a anime/mange/hentai/jrpg fan. In fact, I hate them with a passion. And mixing JRPG with Western RPG's or western style games NEVER result in anything interesting or even playable.

This is another fail. I understand that hearing a compleatly regular and normal asian name makes you think about your worst nemesis - manga (not mange)? You should get a treatment.

I thought "mange" was a skin condition.
