Personally I like Samara from a personality perspective. From a power-gamer perspective I also perfer Samara because Reave can be used against Health/Armour/Biotic/(maybe even shields too, I don't recall) where-as Dominate while good can only be used when the enemy is down to Health (which in the higher difficulties means taking down at least one bar of armour/biotic/shields, maybe even two. It also has a very long recharge when used by a team-mate.

I use it as my bonus power on Shepard because the recharge timer for it is shorter for Shep and because it really is effective it used tactically by the player. I love sniping Abominations and stuff, then dominating them so they explode in the middle of a group of husks, or dominating enemies who have flame throwers / collector beam rifles or anything that gets a bit too close to me with a shotgun or is hiding behind cover with a friend. It really helps to even the odds in the higher difficulties if used well.

Wait a sec? You can pick Morinth in the fight?

Wierd, either I didn't have enough renegade points or I missed the prompt in all of the shinyness that set my eyes ablaze.

It isnt necessary to be a renegade for this.I was paragon and had the option.

Still, is there a mid-cutscene prompt or something or is there a dialogue option?

Either your Paragon or your Renegade needs to be really close to 100%, so you can choose one of the special dialog options right before Samara storms in to save you.

My first playthrough with my FemShep Paragon Vanguard, Samara was the obvious choice -- although I was a little sad I couldn't romance her. But I'm on my second time through, now -- started a new male Sentinel in ME1, played as a total Renegade (although I still couldn't bring myself to kill the Rachni queen), and now in ME2, I took Morinth over Samara. If nothing else, it will totally boost your Renegade score to the top (+45), but I'm looking forward to seeing how she plays. I already have Reave for myself (due to my ME1 import), and so far, I like her conversations. A little sexy, not at all nice.

Minor seque: it is just me, or are Samara's breasts just a little **too low** on her body? Not saggy, but just her breasts are sprouting too low from her chest. Every time I look at her in that low-cut outfit, there's just something wrong. I was hoping Morinth would keep her black-and-bondage-looking outfit so I didn't have to see that weird cleavage anymore.

This is a rather interesting choice that I considered in latter playthroughs as I was generating "perfect" renegade/paragon games. To clarify, my idea of perfect paragon is 100%+ paragon with very little renegade (note: not none as there are some renegade-only interrupts that are worth doing for fun) and perfect renegade is 100%+ renegade w/ 60% paragon as I made paragon choices in leaving characters and more alive (both ME1 and 2) for ME3. My renegade focused on galatic unification and stability, gathering as much allies as possible (as opposed to pro-human), but the methods in doing so were more forceful.

Keeping that in mind and back to this though, Samara is the obvious choice for paragon. She approves of your decision-making as a paragon. Never took Morinth as a paragon but she has no reason to object in either case imo. For a renegade, this leaves implications for ME3 assuming returning characters. If Samara returns, I don't think she'll help a renegade sheperd; more likely, you'll be forced to killing Samara. On the other hand, Morinth posing as Samara can be a useful ally to renegade sheperd. That was my logic in determining who I picked for my individual playthroughs for ME3.

Samara, Morinth was a succubus, which is something you wouldn't want on a ship.

It is easy. On my cosmopolitan, "noone left behind" Paragon Shepard -> Samara. On my pro-human, anti-alien, "everybody is disposable for the sake of the mission" Renegade Shepard -> Morinth, and kill her during the suicide mission :)

I tend to pick Samara actually. Not that I like her much more (I do think she's a bit underdeveloped actually), but for the simple reason that she had _already_ pledged her loyalty to me.

Why would Morinth keep her word to stay with you when you help her get rid of Samara? Logically she would either try to kill you or jump ship whenever she has the chance.

I always pick Samara so for my new renegade playthrough I'm choosing Morinth for variety's sake.

Besides, I like the glowing, Franken-Shepard look my character has developed and I don't want the paragon points to start healing it.

Samara's as much of a heartless killer as Morinth is. She's also a religious zealot. Samara might do something stupid that would endanger the mission if it meant following her code, and she outright tells a renegade Shepard that they have a problem. Morinth is a killer, but she wouldn't do anything to endanger the galaxy, in fact she'd risk her life to save it, since she lives there too.

I only selected Morinth in one playthrough, my psychotic Renegade Soldier Ashley Shepard. That is my 'maximum carnage' character, who tries to make sure that everyone who can die in the game, does die. And Morinth is a serial killer, so it seemed like a good match.

As far as the prompt is concerned, if you've got enough Paragon or Renegade to resist Morinth just before Samara shows up, you'll be presented with an option to kill one or the other midway through the fight.

As for who I choose, I go with Samara, as I only play Paragon characters. Renegades hold no interest for me. I'm attempting to get a high enough Paragon score to pick Morinth so I can get access to Dominate, but only for the sake of having all the Bonus Powers available to me. Neither Reave or Dominate have ever really interested me.

No. If you talked to samara you would realise that she is not a heartless killer if there was a choice to go after a villan or save an innocent, she would save the innocent.

This is a kind of Morinth-Kasumi crossover funny: I just finished my Renegade playthrough this morning, and continued my game so I could romance Tali (after already romancing Miranda) and hit a few more planets. When I went in to chat with Kasumi -- she's got some of the best lines -- she said something about watching out for Morinth, and I was totally shocked! No one knows that it's Morinth... except, apparently, for Kasumi.

It would have been better if her comment alluded to the fact that no one else knows about the deception, but it was still a neat thing to run into.

Dominate is better for me.Yes,first its necesary to strip an enemy protection(not that hard), but after i did that the fight is over in favour for me.Especially with group dominate.
Reave is just an improved warp.

Samara, if just for the fact that Morinth mind rapes you to death... Oh, and Reave. That, too.

Seriously, though, even the most hard-asses psychotic renegade Shep would have somewhat of a problem with that, right?

Also, it hardly makes any sense story-wise that there wasn't a "security team" shadowing Shep's every move.
