When I found out Mark Hamill played the Joker on the cartoon series I was flaberghasted - Luke Skywalker is the Clown Prince of Crime?! (mind you, I learned this some years ago, but it never fails to surprise and impress me)

One that I was really surprised by was the voice actor who does Huey and Riley freeman on the Boondocks. It turns out that both voices are done by a woman named Regina King.

I never look up voice actors, Tali is an alien, full stop. Keith David gets a pass as you can't disguise that level of awesomeness.

I think he was trying to suggest that many of those who were going ga-ga over Ashley, probably were waspie kids with some Ashley-esque opinions themselves (...whereas others scorned her solely because of her bigotry (be it of greater or lesser degree)) and that their narrow little minds might get all suddenly repulsed.

Exactly. I liked Ashley from day one before I found out who voiced her. What I'm saying is certain individuals who liked Ashley before may jump ship after learning that she is voiced by an original woman. I've read several comments about people saying that Ashley can't compete with Miranda.........that's bull***t. If you want a woman that was constructed in a lab like some frakkin', freakin', frankenstein, so be it. My Shepherd wants a woman created by god not by a syringe and numerous parts of other people. Miranda is a mutt, plain and simple.

Oh my gosh she is quite the voice actor i never could have imagined her as black ???? Well good thing Miranda's character Yvonne Strahovski looks the same and has the same good looking chair that she has in mass effect 2, Miranda beats ashley everyday in that category no competition, Im totally hooking up with Miranda in Mass Effect 3 instead of Ashley, thanks for ruining that for me kimberly lol

To me, the greatest voice actors are the one's that create a persona. You don't remember what they look like during the action or you forget at some point.

Or when you learn that the Joker is voiced my Mark Hamill.

You do realize that wasn't really a clever rebuttal, right?

Him saying 'as ironic as you are smart' was fairly clearly an indication that no, in fact, you are not smart. So basically it reverse psychology. Which in turn means that you directing that same quip back at him actually means what you are saying is that he is not, by any measure of the word 'retarded'.

So in this context, you haven't actually insulted him in the slightest, if anything you've just measured him as being intelligent. Because in this context, the use of the word 'retarded' would be considered a reverse.


OT: I knew Ashley's Voice actress was black, I did a little extra reasearch on the matter personally. I think it's kind of cool how well Kimberly Brooks portrayed Ashley in that game because she had one of the most fully fleshed out personalities out of all of them and it wasn't in what she said, it was the way she said it and how her voice conveyed that.
So yeah, add that to the list of reasons why I like Ashley Williams.

EDIT: Also I always knew Ashley was ethnic in some way with her brownish skin or whatnot but truth be told, I never wondered what ethnicity it was, I just accepted it as her skin color and it's a nice skin color.
I guess I'll just say what TV Tropes had to say on the matter:
