I live in England. I want to live somewhere where there's more rain.
And I'm really not joking.

How much rain do you get, exactly?

Same here. Fun Fact: I was all set up and ready to go on a Study Abroad trip to London and the damn thing got canceled. I even had enough money to pay for it myself, a feat I can't pull off now (life and all). Sad timesImage IPB.

Not enough. Been raining on/off for the past week, but it's really not enough for me.

I've had several trips canceled; one to England, France and Spain, one to Austria, and one to Russia.  It's been very sad.

I could send you some snow next winter, if you would like...

I was in London once, but I was only two years old by the time so I don't remember anything of it.

Why is that? Most people find that dreary. I like the rain myself. Particularly the smell of fresh rain hitting concrete or soil. I'm not sure I'd want to live somewhere with constant raining. The ocassional sunny day provides contrast.

Same reasons you like rain. I'm happiest when it's raining, I like the way the world seems to change when it does and... I don't know. I just really, really like rain.

Excellent. I take it the laws in Austria are more accepting then. I'm not sure I could legally fire or own any of those here in California...

Speaking of which, since you live in Austria, have you ever fired a Steyr product? If so, what and how was it? I was interested in getting a Steyr Scout a while back and I have always admired the design of the AUG.

Edit: Of course I could never get the AUG....no assault weapons here of course.

Commiefornia is still not so bad, it has some extremely stupid laws regarding high capacity mags and pistol grips on rifles, but thats about it. If you want to get into a real bad state move to NY. Guns? Forget it.

I am only about 50 kilometers away from the Steyr factory, and yes, I own several rifles from Steyr. I'll get the the Steyr AUG civilan version this year, great rifle serves our Army very well. The quality is outstanding and accuracy extremely good too. They are e x p e n s i v e, but you get what you pay for.

Steyr scout is an excellent rifle, its only downside is that the small pencil-thin fluted barrel heats up quickly and hits are all over the place after 10 quick shots. At least the model in .308 does, dont know about the 223.

@ OnlyShallow89

As much as we'd love to have you, don't move to southern California. We're lucky to see 10-15 days of rain per year if that. Hell, last week it was 90F for a few days.

Thank you very much for the information. You know, the laws in CA aren't what's bad, it's finding a place to go shooting that sucks. Pistols and shottys are fairly easy, I have good places to go all within 45 minutes of where I live. But for rifles....especially larger cal like those you mentioned, those need to be outdoors. The nearest place for that is about 3 hours away. Bah....

Oh you would like to visit Brazil then. I live on the south, so our climate is almost the same as france for example. But in the north we have 2 seasons. We have the winter (wich is very dry and sunny),...  and the other 360 days. =]

You're not alone.  Perfect weather for me is grey skies, rain and cold - I just love it, it never bothers me at all.  Bright, sunny weather actually kind of stresses me out, to be honest. :pinched:

Wow, a shooting range with a caliber limit? Is it because the bullet backstop cant handle the larger calibers?
I am lucky, I have a shooting range about 1 hour away, sadly its limited to 100 meters but I can blast away with muzzleloaders and centerfire up to .338 or 8x57IS.
We had a beautiful military 1000+ meters shooting range located in a dale surrounded by mountains - which was open to civilians, but thanks to our stupid government cutting the budget of our army it was closed not too long ago.

Such a shame, Imagine the fun I had shooting silhouettes at up to 600 meters with open sights. :crying:

WW2. I think they came here around 1947. The whole Europe was poor and South America was full of jobs. That's what my grandmother told me.
