I'm happiest when it's raining, I like the way the world seems to change when it does and... I don't know. I just really, really like rain.

You're not alone.  Perfect weather for me is grey skies, rain and cold - I just love it, it never bothers me at all.  Bright, sunny weather actually kind of stresses me out, to be honest. :pinched:

awwwww, i love rain too! Going to sleep to the sound of rain is simply perfect! :D

Wow, a shooting range with a caliber limit? Is it because the bullet backstop cant handle the larger calibers?
I am lucky, I have a shooting range about 1 hour away, sadly its limited to 100 meters but I can blast away with muzzleloaders and centerfire up to .338 or 8x57IS.

It's exactly that I believe. The indoor ranges are situated in urban, business type areas so they won't take anything like that. The nearest true outdoor range is up in the Angeles mountains which is about 1.5 hours north of Los Angeles. And it takes me another hour to 1.5 hours to get through LA since I live in Long Beach. (SW edge of the county.)

Edit: What I mean by "true" outdoor range, since I mentioned I trap shooting and that is obviously an outdoor thing, is a place that allows the firing of all types of guns outdoors. Prado Olympic Shooting Park allows handguns inside stalls with dirt backdrops at 10-25 meters only and shotguns outside only for trap and skeet. Too many farms in the area. Riverside county CA...

We had a beautiful military 1000+ meters shooting range located in a dale surrounded by mountains - which was open to civilians, but thanks to our stupid government cutting the budget of our army it was closed not too long ago.

Such a shame, Imagine the fun I had shooting silhouettes at up to 600 meters with open sights. :crying:

Could they not have turned it into a pay shooting range? Wouldn't that have been a way to pay for it?

Oh yes!  Especially if you have a metal roof, so it's good and noisy.  (I guess that doesn't make much sense when you're trying to go to sleep but it seems to work wonders on me...)

Driving 6 hours is a pain in the butt, but I think its worth it, visiting the range monthly and having a blast at long ranges...I know I wouldn't be able to resist the urge.

I wish, unfortunately we currently have a strong anti-gun move in our country, (thanks to the European Union and UNO and some crazy left-wing hippies) so resurrecting the 1000+m shooting range is a no go. I don't know what they are going to do with all the targets and stuff, its such a waste.

My real love is trap so I don't mind driving out to blast some 12 gauge shells. Moving targets are a blast. Pistols are fun too but that is really home defense practice as well as entertainment. There's no way I could use the shotty for home defense, it has a 28" barrel and I live in a one-bedroom apartment. HAHA!

For home defense I have a 12 gauge 20'' sawed off double with external hammers, it only weighs 6.5 pounds and kicks like the devil himself with full power loads, especially with 1.5 ounce slugs. For indoor defense its loaded with 00 plated buck / 9 pellets per shell. Spread about palm sized patterns at 5 meters with cylinder chokes.

Nothing points like a side by side! :o

I would love shooting some clays, but again our stupid laws are over-sensible about lead pollution so...another no go.

Well, it depends what part you're in of course, but overall I'd definitely say it's more prone to rain.  The weather is a bit capricious though, we have a joke about 'four seasons in a day' because sometimes you'll get all dressed up warm for the rain, only to have it stop and the sun come out ten minutes later, then wind, then rain again, then hot, etc.  I've noticed where I live in Australia, when it rains, it just rains.  It'll pour down non-stop all day.  Back home rain likes to be unpredictable and mess with you.
