Ive always wanted to hear these words

Welcome to San Quintin we are excited you are here staff and inmates alike.

IN the unlikely event you are taken hostage the state will not negotiate your release for that of an inmate.

Can you agree with that.

Best into to a song ever.

True...  It is something that you produce in extreme quantities.  I'll buy some of it, and see if I can turn it into an energy source.  A generator powered by sarcasm would solve the world's energy problems overnight Image IPB

Saxophones will always be expensive. It's just how they roll. The cheapest one I've seen was upwards of 1,000 bucks.

No kidding. I could afford one now, but it's still a questionable expense. Maybe someday when I strike it rich. :P Guitars are ridiculously cheap in comparison. I could buy a passble acoustic for barely over $100. It's like they don't want anyone learning saxophone.

That's exactly what they want. People who exclusively play jazz/classical tend to be insanely arrogant...Image IPB

Seems like you haven´t met people from the Doom or Brutal Death scene...
Same arrogance but multiplied by the fact that they´re "underground" and "avant garde".

You guys were talking about jazz player being all arrogant and stuff...

...this doesnt really fall under the lines "arrogance" but it is interesting. Anyway, Louis Armstrong got in trouble numerous time for using marijuana and heroine. Ah, those crazy Beboppers and their drugs... ;)

I also found out to day at a meating with my surgeon that I will be having one of my kidneys removed mid-June, so yeah...I will be gone for awhile, although you will all most likely forget me even mentioning this until then...

I'm not talking about all jazz players, just those who exclusively play jazz.

Part me says "Awesome!" and the other part says "Image IPB".

Try not to think about it too much. It'll just make you a nervous wreck.

Armstrong? Are you sure? Because I´d say that it sounds exactly like Charlie Parker, who actually died from overdose...

And for the surgery; good luck, be well and come back better than you left. :)

Please don't laugh (or laugh away if you feel like it ), but I believe in "ghosts" and other paranormal stuff. So much has happened to me what I cannot explain. Here's a few thingies:

I've once seen a "ghost" or similar entity. It was a extremely bright, slightly blueish ball-shaped floating...thing. Even while it was very bright, it did not illuminate the room. And yes, it moved. It moved slightly towards me, roared (not angrily or anything) and then moved back. It then descended towards the floor and vanished. Yes, I was sleeping, and I woke up just seconds before I saw that in front of my bed. I first brushed it aside as a "rather realistic dream". But, after a while, a very good friend of mine told me that something has happened to her, and her story was excatly similar. The ball-shape, bright but not illuminating and all that...And yes, both happened in the same house..

Most of these odd or unexplainable things happen right when someone in my household has died. Some of you may say that the mix of imagination and huge sorrow makes us think we see weird stuff. Maybe, maybe not.^_^

When my father died, we of course went to the hospital to bid our farewells. But, when we came back, my uncle's self made fence's door was upside down. I didn't see this, but my uncle told me that, and I have no reason to doubt him. And yes, we lived in countryside, the closest neigbor lives few miles away. And he was with us when we went to the hospital.

And of course, there are numerous times when we hear the door either open or close, but no-one enters. And the doors are strudy, they won't move by themselves. And the sound of footsteps coming from the upper floor, when no-one is there.

My father (sit tibi terra levis) used to say that there is no paranormal things out there; there are phenomena we cannot explain with our current knowledge.

OK, it´s true that self-suggestion and hallucinations happen and exist, that could have been your case. Plus, you live in Scandinavia; and over there, light is very, very tricky.

By no means I´m calling you stoned junkie or mentaly ill; I know that out there weird things happen and we don´t have reasons to explain them; but it does not make them less real.

I´ll be in Manshfield State Reformatory in Ohio (that place is famous since Shawshank´s Redemption was filmed there) sleeping for a night in a couple months. It is infamous for being a haunted spot so we´ll see...

Yeah, I've always wondered that if it was my imagination playing, so that could be. But the fact that other person (who btw, is a full-fledged sceptic) saw the same thing later on, in the same house, and told me about it. I didn't tell her the fact that I saw one before her. So she had no prior knowledge of my "experience".

But on the other hand, I do live in the cold north, so maybe it has done some damage to my mental health *big grin*

Don´t joke with that. When I lived in Fantoft (close to Bergen and famous for the burnt down church), I made my life in the infamous 18th floor. That place has seen more suicides since it was built in the 60´s than probably whole Hordaland in centuries.

Depression reinforced by lack of sun was a huge, huge issue up there. I can confirm that said lack screwed me pretty badly there and it´s working the same way now...

I didn't mean to offend you in any way, so if I did, I'm sorry.

But I do know the relation with lack of sunlight and mental depression, it's quite a big issue here in Finland, since wintertime is very dark. But when you live here as long as I have, you'll get used to it...probably...

You didn´t offend me in any way. I was just pointing out at the fact that Scandinavian is the perfect geographical place for weird experiences since I had plenty of those when I lived over there.

I´m still a quite skeptic person regarding weird experiences that are not drug-induced, but I know what I lived up there and maybe it was in part attached to a terrible lack of sunlight.

A strange old man in robes once offered to let me look at my own soul through a special mirror. When he held up the mirror there was no reflection of me so he must have been some kind of charlatan. Although his reaction was a bit strange, he got all pale and started shaking then ran like hell. Left the mirror behind and everything.
