Probably not. I'm confident in their ability to stand on their own feet.
You're outrageous. Truly, truly, truly outrageous.
It's not about them being able to stand on their own two feet. You're missing the point. If you weren't in their lives, they wouldn't have you in their lives. They can't go out and find another Seagloom. That is, at the very least, something pretty big that you bring to the metaphorical coffee table of life.

Beyond that, I don't want to come across as self pitying or attention seeking because I feel neither of those things. Thanks for the thoughts, but I rather we move on.
Don't worry, you don't. You do come off as a bit self-underappreciating, though...
Oh well. At least I'll always be your number one fan!
...Even though that it was that bastard Himura (and not me) who found that awesome crossaint ice cream sammich...

I can, too. It stings, quite a bit, but it isn't anything intolerable.

@Himura - Doesn't that sting? I've been able to do it with googles on but that probably doesn't count. The most I've done is swim eyes open in a chlorine mixed public swimming pool.
Well, that's the interesting fact: It does not sting at all. Just a little on the first minute or two, then my eyes "get used" to the salt water and it doesn't sting anymore. Of course my vision gets extremely blurred

Another interesting fact about me...earlier you all were talking about driving experiences....
I've had my liscense for about a year now but the first time I ever drove I needed to dodge an entire heard of cows! I live out in farmland in PA and cows often cross the road between their pasture and their enclosed barn and they just decided to start as I passed by. It got intense...
I was also involved in a 5-car-pileup in the middle of a quarter of a mile long bridge. It sucked...I wasn't driving this time though....but some idiot from Maryland(they are stereotypically bad drivers, btw) stopped to change lanes and it's hard for everyone else to come to a complete stop they would never be expecting while going 60mph+.....It didn't end well for him

Hey, I CAN'T swim at all. When I was a child I never had time to learn.
@Godak - Okay, goggles. ~Grumbles about typos~
This would've been true of me as well. Dad was a real hard*** though. Among the many activities I *had* to participate in, swimming lessons were one of them. It isn't very hard to learn with a competant instructor. I'm sure you could learn how to tread water easily. Actually swimming is more intensive but the basics are simple.
Huh. It never really occured to me that people don't want to/can't swim. Hmm...I honestly can't remember not being able to swim. I can't dive worth monkey testicles, though, and I have a pool in my back yard.

I completely understand the need for everything to be "perfect" or, in it's right place. I'm not a neat freak either, but when something is out of place it bothers me and I have to fix it. I channel it through my computer. I organize my desktop, folders, files, music. Oh, you should see my iTunes library. I have 6000+ songs, and I spend hours organizing them. I also can't have just one song from an artist, I have to have the entire album. I guess that makes me a bit of a hoarder too.
OMG!!!! Me to! I have like 10,000 and growing and it freaks me out but i can't stop i go crazy if things are not in order or i don't have 100% of something or at least a good even #. I some time spend hours organizing files its sad....
Also when i sleep to much i get Major headaches later that day, and the weird thing is i listened to mass effect type music and it got better weird huh?...
