I mean, really? TENTACLES?! Posted Image

Dude, being an old 4chan veteran, all i have to say is that

"there's no limits for the human mind. Be for good, or bad."

Throughout the whole net i've seen very good and awesome things over the years, but i must admit i also saw stuff that would make Chuck Norris cry...

Heh,
more education than you wanted, right? If it's a questionable word and
I've somehow managed to escape 29-ish years of not hearing it, I
usually look it up on urban dictionary.  Off on a tangent....the other
day, our church secretary posted on her facebook that she'd looked up
her name on urban dictionary, and she wrote what her name meant
according to their site.  Fortunately, she found a clean definition.  I
had to message her and explain what urban dictionary really was.

An alternative source of knowledge?

And the perfect place for jargon; you have to give it that.

There´s like a thousand different names for that; but well, if we are talking about Mr. Crowley before, so you may clearly guess what I mean.

I do not focus in a particular tradition, I like to experiment, read and assimilate from different sources since confining oneself to only one form is basicaly the pure opposite of what Left Hand Path stands for.

Well said!

So... does that  mean, that you also clean your arse with the right hand? :P

- The only muscles I never had to work on are my shoulders and especially my trapecius muscels (between shoulder and neck), I dont know why but my shoulders have always been so big putting every other muscle to shame, I cannot even lift my arms as far over my head as most other people can.
Before I started lifting weights to compensate my ''dissymmetry'' I used to look funny because my shoulders didnt fit to the rest of my body at all.

But afaik almost everyone has odd muscles,  a friend of mine - thin as a stick- has legs so strong, he could kick concrete bridges, mammoth trees and tanks in half.  Posted Image

I just got doing reading all your Marvel conversation and/or other stuff...

All I have to say about any of it is....I WANT TO BE A MEMBER OF COLBERT NATION!!! Did you ever have his Ben and Jerry's Ice cream?!?!? Anyway, I prefer him over Jon Steward anyday, even though Jon Oliver is hilarious on the Daily Show. I still like Stephen, i think he includes more humor...or is it just me.

@Seagloom: This may be kinda weird and off-setting but I kind of want to see your hands now...

I prefer Colbert over Stewart myself, but only because I watch those shows to laugh--not for political commentary. It also helps that Colbert is a champion of satire; an often neglected comedic art.

Well, I have to agree that Colbert is funnier, but Stewart really has a firm grasp on the political workings of...everything. He's really surprised on a few occasions. There's so much that he just pulls out of no where. He'll be debating with a guest, and all of a sudden he's all "Well, no, that's actually not true." and lists all sorts of facts and statistics off the top of his head.

*Ahem*

Still, I DVR Colbert, not Stewart. Also, I want this poster! Posted Image

Not really. Im also righ-handed, but i go the Left-Hand-Path in the Mundane/Small World  ;)
(if you havent guessed: t'was a joke towards the developed meaning of "left-hand-path", it involved the hinduistic mentality of left hand / right hand stigmatization)

I think this is OCPD (Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder) rather than OCD. OCPD is an obsession with perfection and order, whereas OCD is about repeating tasks in an attempt to reduce anxiety (like repeatedly washing hands to get rid of germs or swtiching the light on 350 times to stop the world from ending).

The reason why I know this - I suffer from what I consider mild OCPD and whenever anyone says I have OCD I respond with the above.

All my DVDs & books are in alphabetical order. Similarly to Seagloom, I've replaced entire collections books that have been damage by others and (I cannot believe I'm admitting this) when its a series of books and the theme of the covers change part way through meaning the earlier books don't match the new styles.

Heaven forbid if items on my desk aren't lined up - parallel and perpenticular is the way to go Posted Image

... I heard that playing Chess or Go for years could maybe diminish this habit

@Freely--my spice rack in my kitchen is huge--I probably have a good 80 different herbs and spices on it. I've put them in alphabetical order just so I can find what I want quickly. If I didn't do that, I'd be searching all day for the one herb or spice I needed to put for the meatloaf or roast chicken. I hate wasting time looking for stuff that I use often.

Well, the only thing I'm a little OCD about is damaged goods. For example, my Collector's Edition of DA:O has the tiniest little dent in the bottom corner...I have thought of no feasible way to bang it out without damaging the integrity of the case.

Also, my import copy of Demon's Souls came to me in perfect condition. One day, my dad put his laptop on the case, so it has a very slight bend...It irks me to no end.

Also, if someone rips a page in a book/magazing, I freak. I'm going to need to buy pristine copies of everything when I move out on my own.

I wash my hands when I: do yard work, use the bathroom, touch my retainer, eat (before and after), and that's all I can think of, right now. I'm sure that there are plenty of other situations, but...Nothin' in my noggin.

I think everyone is a little OCD, some a little more, some a little less. Me, i have some things with locks and keys. I must always look at the key to ensure the key is in my hands before locking anything. Sometimes i get up in the middle of the night to check if i locked all the doors (i hate it >.<).

I have arround 1500 cd´s of Extreme Metal (and I´m not counting the non-metal stuff) and I have everything sorted by author and date of release, so, yep, sounds like another one to the list.

I just arrange things by author/series in no real fashion. On my game shelf all my D&D games are together, all my Blizzard games together... You get the idea :P

If you were listening to any form of music for more than 15 years, you´d pack a horrible ton of records too.

No offense everyone... but some of the quirks you're attributing to OCD well... aren't. It's one thing to be organized and set in a certain way of doing things. It's also possible to be a bit picky. That isn't OCD. OCD is an overruling compulsion that drives your actions to the point you find the impulses nearly impossible to resist, and can only sate them by repeating a certain behavior.

I can tell you all from personal experience that there have been times I've felt this compulsion so strongly, it's made me cry... because I have enough self awareness to realize what I'm doing is needless and wasteful.

I hope none of you ever face that because it's quite frankly, hellish most of the time.

We aren't trying to say that we actually have OCD, we're just saying that we have a few quirks that are OCD-esque. Would it be better if we just said we're a little obssesive-compulsive about some things?
