Taller women are sexy, though I don't prefer women who are taller than me to those that are shorter. Let's just say that I like Rachel Bilson and Uma Thurman. Posted Image

I find your first sentence is true for many men, yes. It can be problematic when most guys are shorter than you are and they feel threatened by that.

Yeah, I've never really gotten the "threatened" part. They're taller, and you all-of-a-sudden get insecure about how you "measure up"? Pffft. Posted Image

I don't get it why men are so obsessed about height, height is not what makes a man; and I am pretty average with 6.1''
Lets face it, too tall women are much better than women too short.

Taller means longer legs and longer legs mean better view of stockings...

I'll keep that in mind if I ever meet you. :pinched: Stockings are more a special occasion thing. Not something I'd put on for day to day activity. But yes, if that happens it's stockings and knee-high boots. :P

...Are they witchy forest stripper boots?

I saw some at Dillards the other day, thought you might like them...Posted Image

Maybe it's harder for tall women to pull off stuffed animal cute (and I'm not even too sure about that myself), but think of it this way: it's harder for tiny women to pull off statuesque.  So, you know... win some and lose some?

@ Seagloom

What I ever wanted to know, as we know most men feel intimidated by taller women, lets twist the story, how do you feel about men shorter than you?

Nope. She's a witch.

Plus, nymphs are complete suckage.

No. Period.
Faeries are creatures from celto-britannian tradition that only are labeled as such in there. If the category "fairie" has become broader, it´s by British imposition and extrapolation; not by native denomination. Nymphs are Roman local deities of forests and rivers (even the sea).

Xanas belong to Middle Age legends and are supernatural humans, a trait that does not apply to any of the previous.

When I think of witches I think of my mum. I bought her a book on witchcraft but I think it was more Wicca than anything "proper", which is a real shame. I find it very hard to find material on paganist beliefs/methods without drowning in a sea of Wicca. If you're going to do something, do it properly, right?

Interesting fact... I have my own fantasy series in which the protagonists are a female dwarf and a female elf in a lesbian romance and who are later joined by a married couple (human male and female). They're a band of adventurers who right wrongs and save innocent villagers from bandits and thieves! :)

I write in short bursts but I've never really "tapped" into it. I've joined a community where they run monthly fiction competitions so I sometimes join in with that. I didn't win the last one but I got two votes (my record so far!) but more importantly I have a wealth of tips and advice to use in future stories.

My own "universe" exists for two reasons. The first is as a vessel to help me improve my skills and to try new techniques. The second is my characters were in my head and I felt like I "had" to get them into stories. I've thought about them at night before I go to sleep and some of the mind-stories I've had were really moving, and I don't feel like I have the skill to write some particular scenes, but hopefully I will one day.

My tip is to never force it to happen and if the beginning of a story pops into your head (or a scene) then get it down. One "story" (was more like part of a story) in my universe was based completely on a daydream I had and it's one of the loveliest things I feel I've written, and I also had an independent story that I wrote which was a bit strange (it was a dream I'd had) but I had to rewrite half of it because my interpretation didn't make sense.

That's where I usually find inspiration for my short stories. Dreams, daydreams, or those moments I'm taking a walk or showering and have a random idea. Unfortunately none of them were enough to spin into a full length novel. They're more like scenes in the life of those characters or tales of one shot experiences. What I need is a dose of real inspiration... and the sheer will to commit it to paper.

I know what you two mean.  I feel like I get my most creative ideas at random, and often from dreams or daydreams.  I don't really have much of an outlet for it at the moment, aside from occasionally writing bits of music that I don't bother finishing.  I know that writing is one of my strengths, but I haven't really done creative writing in ages, although I used to do it all the time.  I really want to do it more, but I've just been lacking for self-discipline.

Your posts reminded me that I had one of the strangest and most haunting dreams I can ever remember having had last night, and I woke up thinking straightaway that it should be a play.  (I don't know why a play, as I've never attempted writing one or been all that attracted to the form, but there it is.)  Unfortunately, I've forgotten all the details, though I can recall some basic ideas.

Well, maybe someday.

That's always the trouble with dreams. One tip I got from my mom ages ago was keeping a notebook nearby to jot down vital details about a dream immediately after waking. I know what it's like to have a great dream idea and forget it. Self discipline is a big problem for me too. I know I should write every day but I can never manage it. If you ever figure out how please pass that along. :)
