Which escudo coins did you use over there at the time? For us it was the old 25 pesetas coin.

Depending on the machine it could be the 100 escudos or the 50 escudos coins

My father doesn't like to buy me books because when I read I become despondent and lethargic. I don't eat, or talk, or do anything besides sleep until I finish the book, and then for a few days after I continue in the zombie-like state. It scares him. I snap at him and tell him to leave me alone during those periods.
He wasn't happy when I brought home Breaking Dawn. That book was an emotional roller coaster...I must have been really scary to be around during that time.

I still have some of those at home. Good memories indeed; from those times when you could eat chocolate-related stuff in Coimbra till burst for the equivalent of 8 €.
Very true. Good times, good times.
More odd stuff:
- I once had to get 6 stitches on my tongue because I bit it when I fell of the couch, two of the cuts made a T shape, something the doctor said shouldn't be possible
- I'm deathly afraid of getting shots (injections). When I was 12 I had to be restrained by 3 nurses to get one... But I still managed to bite the doctor
- I've had 15 hamsters at home at the same time. When one of them bit my finger I tossed it across the kitchen. Luckily for her my dad had fast reflexes
Cheers
EDIT: BTW I got my tongue stitches without anesthetic and tied to the table with those white hospital sheets. And my mum had to pay

That rings a bell! I was offered to get the whole saga of Sigurd Dragonslayer tattooed on both arms when I lived in Bergen. I refussed because needles freak me out.

Not to mention, one distant relitive of mine was caniballised at sea after the whaleing ship Essex sunk after a whale attack. That incedent inspired Hermin Melville to write Mobey Dick. (Look it up on Histories' Mysteries on the History Channel site)
Also my grandfather who recently died, grew up and knew Talk Show host Rush Limbalugh's dad.

Back to the topic, every night before I go to bed, I have this need to check if everything is "okay". I need to check if the oven is off (Even when I know it hasn't been on all day). Then that the faucet isn't dripping. Then it's time to check that the fridge door is closed. After that I check that all the electronical stuff is turned off (TV, computer etc.) Then I will go to to the front door and check that it's closed and locked....If I don't do all those things, I can't get any sleep. I need to get up and check them.
And everytime I come back home, I need to wash my hands. Every time. Even if the "trip to the outside" lasts only minute...
Yes, I'm odd...Or limited edition
