I think the default Shepard looks perfect if you're playing as  a Paragon.  He looks tough, yet compassionate at the same time.
I have never seen a custom Shepard that looks better than the default one.

The female default Shepard looks cool too.  She looks tough, yet womanly.

The graphics in this game are so damn good.
On topic: I only played as default Shepard on a speed run out of complete boredom.
Off topic:  Heavy Rain has horrible facial animations/voice acting and graphics that do not compete with Mass Effect 2.

It really doesn't matter to me. I just keep default because I am mostly wearing a helmet throughout the game. The only time I'm not is in the ship.

Default certainly...I feel alot like when they give you char and he appears a certain way he appears you should stick with it...Now FEM shepard on the other hand obviously does not get on the cover art or most of anything really so I wouldnt be opposed to edit her

Yeah, the voice for Shepard only 'works' for the default (in my opinion).

To anyone who says that Mark Vanderloo (Default Shepard) looks more "manly"... you realize you're talking about a male fashion model, right?

In my opinion, anyone who plays with VanderShep is either lazy or just lacks imagination.

Default Shepard does look manly, but not in a childish, gears of war machoism sort of way. He looks tough, yet intelligent and well tempered at the same time.



All of the custom Shepards I have seen look ugly as sin.

Made my FemShep customized of course, but I did download a MaleShep to try out. I just can't survive another run through ME1 doing the mineral survey quest because my compulsive nature will force me into trying to finish it if I do make my own character, heh. Anyhow, if I get around to it, I plan to use the default MaleShep face. What can I say, I find him hot (well, that model guy he's based on).

Because this is an RPG, not Gears of War. At least, it's supposed to be...

I can't stand default not cause he looks bad but because it feels like a cop out and I prefer to customise my characters and make them unique.
