I must be a horrible person because I laughed when I saw the "Mommy loves you very much" video.
That video gave me chills. What they were doing was inexcusable, but some part of me still felt bad for that particular Quarian.

Oh, there we go. Now I remember. This was the most disturbing scene for me. I was filled with hate. Now I'mMondo47 wrote...
The poor chick coming apart in the pod was a bit... well, I didn't expect her to smear herself across the glass too. Ick.
Would have been better if her screaming had decended into liquid gurgles though
reminded of other things that bother me; I despise the Protheans now that I've learned from the collector ship, and in the galaxy at large the human Empire is not flexing its power in sufficient bombasticity. Which is for the best I know, discretion is warranted, but I would have liked to see the human Councillors, badass and regal, even if they dismissed the great Shephard

Mordin's loyalty mission didn't disturb me, but his reactions to the stuff did a bit. This brilliant scientist, who committed terrible crimes, brought to his knees by the experiments Blood Pack was doing...
And any time a squad member dies during the final assault on the Collector Base disturbed me, in a "What have I done?" kind of way.
Et al.

Actually since you cannot really torture a being which feels no pain or any emotion and which can be easily made effectively immortal by backing its program up... yes, them being not organic does make it quite less appaling.sunovafm wrote...

To force me to experience dialogue with her again, and to have the unmitigated gall to assume that I un-hated her is completely shocking.
Seriously, I needed the "OK, Ash and Kaiden: you both go watch the clock on the nuke KTHXBAI!" option.
Perhaps with a side of sayonara suckers...

Ohhh yes, I could not help but fell so sorry for her. The voice acting for ME2 is just incredible.
Yea that part got me. I listened to it twice and was speechless. They really know how to make characters feel like they matter in this game. Makes me wish they had this much time in ME1.
This was it for me too. I went through the rest of that mission thinking of that poor woman's child...his name is Jonah I believe.

That scene just made me want to slap the taste out of her mouth. Yeah okay I was technically dead the you show up on this damn excuse for a planet and have the gall to have a go at me for leaving you after I've just saved your damn life. Ungrateful little ****.

those geth were given no way to back them selfs up there death was permant and pian is not an emotion and is benificial for survival so even a machine racre would probaly have a simalr concepttmp7704 wrote...

I don't think the geth are dumb enough not to backup themselves before they leave their space for dangerous missions. Or for that matter daily just because it's easy way to ensure one's long-term survival.sunovafm wrote...

Pain is the way for organic being to "pay attention" to potentially dangerous stimulus. For a computer program the same thing can be done through simple high-priority interrupt or even by giving sensor routine a high priority to begin with, neither of which being well, painful. If you get interrupted by someone while doing something else this doesn't cause direct physical pain, does it?

The Geth may not feel any physical pain but you're forgetting that torture is also psychological and I'm sure being held against your will only to have weapons fired on you again and again is torture.tmp7704 wrote...

The Geth, like any intelligent being, fear duplication. Each runtime is still unique.

Psychological torture depends on the subject's ability to feel emotions though, and the geth are lacking these. It actually makes me wonder now if geth "held against their will and shot over and over" would care about it at all -- it doesn't stop or hinder their thought processes from running, and we know from Legion's loyalty mission the geth spend most of their time on the servers rather than in physical form, so not being in control of that form wouldn't seem to be much of an issue, i'd guess...Mikazukinoyaiba2 wrote...

This isn’t really a “scene”, but I got this really creepy message from a Purgatory prisoner who was able to escape because of the riot I caused.
“Thanks for letting me out, Shepard, I’m going to carve your name instead of mine on my next victim…”
I was way disturbed by it. All the more so because there was no quest or anything, just this message that you couldn’t do anything about. And at the end of the message the guy’s like, “Well, gotta go, Shepard, the people who live here are coming home, it’s showtime!”
I thought that message was cool. From that point on I was waiting to find the victim(s) or the guy but never did. Thought he was gonna ambush me or somthing.
I am not too worried. A serial murderer who preys on the weak ambushing a Shepard who can kill Thresher Maws on foot? Not wise.
I wasnt worried about him I just wanted to meet him. Maybe recruit him. He could fit in with my Shepard haha.

Err, fear is emotion. Furthermore it can be argued it's not even universal fear because it's largely irrational, and not everyone is irrational enough to experience it, if they can experience said fear to begin with. (what is objective drawback of having another person like yourself?)Mikazukinoyaiba2 wrote...
