What does everyone think of an Infiltrator? I have already beat the game on Moderate as a Soldier and did just fine. Lost 2 people on the suicide mission but only due to choosing wrong people for the different jobs. I am now going to try round 2 as an Infiltrator on Hardcore or Insane. Sniper was my primary weapon as a Soldier for headshots (1 shot kills mostly) but trying to figure out what my Advanced Training Skill should be. I was thinking of using Slam so I have a biotic power for damage/interupting. I have been playing for a few hours with this build but seem to get hurt way too fast and im not even that far into the game yet. Any ideas on a better build for the Infiltrator for Advanced Training and normal Skill set up. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Slam is not recommended for Infiltrators. Your best bet for a HC/Insanity Infiltrator's bonus skill would be AP Ammo or Warp Ammo. I played with the following build on my Insanity Infiltrator run a while back.
Heavy Disruptor Ammo - 4
Assassination Cloak - 4
Assassin - 4
Heavy Incinerate - 4
AI Hacking - 1
Heavy Warp Ammo/Tungsten Ammo - 4

Normal skills:
1 point in class skill
Max out Cloak
Max out class skill
Whatever you want after that.
Advanced Training, I'd get Warp Ammo--barriers are the infiltrator's one weakness.
The key to Infiltrators is that you get a 1-2 seconds slow down when ever you aim with the sniper rifle, so use that to get quick head shots and get back under cover. If you do this with the maxed cloak (Assassin's Cloak), you also get +75% damage in addition to what you get from your class skill and any upgrades.

Boring? you mean too effective?
And to be quite frank to be good their aren't many variable setups you can have, you get like 3 active abilities, a passive and a bonus.
You can go the route of gimping yourself to be "interesting" but thats silly.

Thanks for the input guys.
A side note, I did read on another forum ; someone said their Adept could use a sniper or assault rifle. Is this true and if so how do you get to use them? I would rather be an Adept to play with biotics if I had my trusty sniper by my side.

From the Collector Ship mission. I wouldn't advise it. Adepts lack the Cloak for damage boost, they lack a slowdown when using a sniper rifle, and aren't suited for such a role.
And they can't get the Widow.

So hypathetically if I did go Adept, I wouldnt get the sniper until near the end of the game? or are you talking about the collector ship near the middle of the game?

If I did go Adept what Advanced Skill would be the best?

Hm. The posters on here try to give advice based on the optimal efficiency on the higher difficulty levels.
The builds provided have been tested to work, regardless if they're "boring."
And if you're bored during Mass Effect I don't think Mass Effect is your game

oh yeah I mean Warp & AP ammo are more fun to use than Reave?!?!?!
LOl hell no. I'm playing on insanity & Reave Spam > Boring Warp ammo & AP ammo.
Some people could debate that but really? How is using an ammo type more fun than having biotics?

My personal Insanity build:
Heavy Disruptor 4/4
Cryo 1/4
Enhanced Cloak 4/4
Heavy Incinerate 4/4
Assassin 4/4
Improved Geth Shield Boost 4/4
This build is designed to be a bit more versatile and defensive, giving you more overall options. The geth shield is nice for an added defensive option when you either need to take more hits in CQC or you would rather not wait for your shields to recharge and can manually refill them on demand. Plus it gives a passive 10% damage boost while it is enabled.
One point in Cryo ammo is all you need for it to be useful...either they'll fall over temporarily from the freeze and be helpless, or they'll just outright shatter (husks for example just outright die if they freeze, but are so weak sometimes I don't even bother changing though this ammo destroys them). Points beyond this are just pointless imo.
I use the cloak mostly for flanking targets or moving cover to cover and the extra duration is nice. The damage bonus can occasionally be a welcome addition, but I seldom use it for that reason.
