Human migration into space will not be ethnically equal.  It was be technological elite founding colonies which only the poorest and most destitute types willing to take indentured servitude/corporate slavery on a world years away from the homeworld would be willing to put up with, religious and idealogical radicals who are unwanted (such as the puritans who the Dutch and English no longer wanted to deal with in the 17th Century).

It's likely in the Mass Effect future that China is the most powerful country on Earth and that its citizens have no reason to leave and colonize other planets whereas Earthborn Shepard's background (rough conditions, poverty, overcrowding, etc.) indicate that his North American place of origin (Canada presumably) is not in good shape and is probably a huge colonist pool.

I believe that in the first book " Mass effect revelation " that it states that since the mid 21 st century the human race has gradually been heading towards a Pan global community where people have been intermixing so much that the human race is heading towards a generic physical state.

I have also read in Revelation that most people are usually of mixed race origin and Anderson as an example has ******, Native American, European and I believe a few other racial backgrounds as well so the devs are not being racist at all they are just following the ME lore as it stands in the books.

You may have also noticed a lack of people with natural blond hair and blue eyes as they are supposed to be reccesive and are becoming a bit of rarity in the this time with most people having dark hair, browner skin and brown eyes as the norm as a result of this close inter breeding between different racial groups.

In the 2nd book " Mass effect Ascension " one of the human charecters states that if this was to continue that eventualy humans would all look very similar much like other aliens appear to us because they have been undergoing this process for a lot longer.

I could go and look this up word for word if you want but its easier just to give you the summarised version.

gpeople need to get over it, who gives a damn if certain ethnic names are not represented.  Every ethnicity of humanity is represtented in ME get over it.   i dont care what their last name is.  theres no characters with a name hailing from my ethnic parentage and I am not complaining because I dont care, I am not some sort of ethnic nationalist, I could give a damn.

You should think of the alliance as the united states a melting pot of different ethnicities and origins, where you DONT CARE if someone has an ethnic last name different from yours.

Liberals Don't Like PC, Conversatives Don't Like PC, Libertarians Don't Like PC, Communist Don't Like Socialist Don't Like PC. Ethic Group X doesn't like PC. No one likes PC. Its ridiculous its going out of your way to mentioning something that has no barring especially in this context. No one wants to live in a world where all that matters about you is your race, nationality or ethnicity is all that matters. All PC does is enforce that all you are is the color of you skin and what nationality you are. PC says you aren't a person but just an afterthought.

@OP: Read the complete Codex entry. In the ME universe, earth itself is still divided into different nations, and most of them are still destitute, caught in 20th century technological limbo.

The System Alliance aKa Humanity in Space is not a demographic copy of earths population.
It's mostly a conglomerate of NASA, ESA and the Chinese, so every military you encounter off-world is likely of those nationalities, or at least trained there.
Civilians ought to be pretty rare, as space travel can't be all that cheap. Those who can afford it are probably also citizens of either Europe, wealthy Asia or major english speaking countries, thereby adding to the "false" demographic representation of humankind in space

a theoretical one, not a realistic one

for one, it doesn't phonetically sound like a Japanese given name (not taking into account change of taste from now till then)

and on top of that, who in their right mind would name their kid "scary story", "heated discussion", "dialog (etc.)", "buddhist altar" or "staircase"? or more likely something out of other kanji that sounds like the above?

in short, the alleged Japanese-ness is likely just a coincidence.
