If it was done, it'd likely focus on the discovery of the prothean tech on mars, or on the first contact war with the turians.

My thoughts exactly.
Is this where I sign up for the lynch mob if he does get involved.

No movie adaption of a game has been good, even in the slightest! How the heck can you make a good movie of a game that is as long as 100 movies.

Damn right! I hate that dude. Bioware better be involved with the movie or it'll suck... Or just let Bioware make the whole movie in CG like that one CG Trailer. Screw Hollywood!

I have a way better idea, how about Bioware makes a Mass Effect video game! No movie, nothing good can come of a Mass Effect movie.
NOTHING.

If previous videogame movies are any indication, it would be better if there WASN'T a Mass Effect movie.
Hollywood would just butcher it. Arnold Schwarzenegger as Commander Shepard, with Chris Tucker as Captain Anderson. Starring Christian Bale as Garrus Vakarian, Robert Downey Jr as the Illusive Man, etc.
Wouldn't work. Would be absolutely hilarious though.

I would like to see it.
I would hope that the ME writers would be HEAVILY involved though, as handing the script/story off to someone else who then decides to take some 'artistic license' can come up with some VERY cringe worthy results, especially when dealing with an established story.
Really would like to see one done about the first contact wars though, as someone said, that would be interesting.

I agree. Seriously, if you look at the game, it's practically a movie already except that you can control a few things. I pluged my xbox onto my humongous plasma TV and my brain about exploded from the graphics and such.

It won't be about shepard. It will be about the next galactic hero. Conrad Verner and his band of brothers/sisters under the over all command of the Council chairman Udina. Seth Green will be back as Conrad's 2nd in command, "Joker". Together they recruit the best of the best to battle the new threat, Asari club music taking over the galaxy. We will see the following
Ethan Jeong as the squad's expert confidence man, he is always coming up with new ways of covering their backsides. Without him the entire team would have been arrested. With his glib tongue, kids and old people are imprisoned for their crimes instead
Gianna Parasini as the squad's expert pencil pusher. She is in charge of filling forms VA-578 all the way to VA-1035A/X. Each form is critical to the plan and she will be the one explaining to the audience what each form does
Dr Chloe Michel just because you need an expert to explain why asari club much is bad. She will hold up brain scans and point out parts and say it rots your brains.
Also in the squad is the local science expert Chorban. He will be in charge of using a scanner and saying things like "yes she is an asari", 'that is a hanar, sir" so that the audience gets to know exactly what those strange freaks are.
Then in the most dramatic moment of the movie, we will see Pressley alive and well, the product of the Lazarus 2.0 project. His role is critical as he will be the main naysayer, saying things like "We can't do that because...", "That can't be right, it should be..."
Their enemies are legion and growing by the minute as the movie moves forward. These include
The evil mastermind Barla Von. He stops halfway in every sentence to take a snorting breath, creating a very intimidating boss character. Even his evil laugh has him snorting several times.
The dangerous Anoleis. The salarian is back with a vengence as he attempts to take down Gianna Parasini with whom he has a grudge. He is in charge of one of the major schemes, where coffee shops popular with young teens will play asari cub music on the basic that young brains are smaller and thus takes less time to rot.
Blackmailed into helping due to evidence of his fetish for salarian females being in barla's possession, the elcor Xeltan later aids the team by telling them of the plot. This also serves as an opportunity for the writers to explain the entire plot in miniscule detail to any audience that still did not get it.
Parents and children of those imprisoned for the teams crimes. They do not see that their children/parents are sacrificing themselves for a greater good.

The ultimate troll. You should get a "real men of genius" commercial about this idea, but in the opposite sense. How can you possibly post this and call yourself a human being.

I wouldn't have a problem with a Mass Effect movie as long as they don't do the plot from the game. Shepard is different for each player, and making a movie about Shepard's story would ruin this for many players. (even if it takes place after the trilogy story).
But if they create a new plot, with different characters, then it might turn out to be cool.

Yeah a movie would be good only as long as it has nothing to do with the game. References to the universe is fine but trying to use anything from the game itself doesn't sit well with me. It would be interesting to see First contact Wars.
Watch, if it is a movie, it will be about the first contact wars. XD Some captain out in Earth space and he barely survives a Turian onslaught. He rises from the ashes and takes it back to the Turians and yadda yadda yadda Etc.

Any movie needs to be completely CGI, with Bioware writing the script and the team that did either the sacrad ashes trailer or the ME2 trailers doing the CGI....
Anything live action would fail badly.

I know Uwe Boll was only thrown out as a joke, but can anyone tell me why that man is even aloud within 500 feet of anything having to do with movies? It takes a special kind of ineptitude to make Ben Kingsley look bad in a movie and Eww Bull managed to do that and more.
