Why or why not?

I tried to kill Connor.  -- and I do not think it should've been a negative choice :P

My justification:  My first character was a mage, and I understood the Fade.

Connor, being a highly untrained mage is vulnverable to the fade and to the demons within it.  Even if I spared his life and dealt with the Demon he would dream again and once again be vulnerable to Demons.  So basically even if I spared his life he could easily fall prey to a Demon once again.  He had some power, knew how to use it, minorly, and was a threat outside of the mage tower.  That and he had already shown the inability to withstand Demons.

In truth -- I tried to kill Connor the first time.  But the magical suits of armor killed me.  So I got annoyed and instead sacrificed his mother.

Overall I was not in a "nice" mood.

My character is a good character -- however the whole situation annoyed him.  He had to fight through a horde of undead, after cajolling the town into actually standing together against the onslaught.

He had to fight through a castle of undead and shades.

He got slaughtered by a revenant three times.  THREE TIMES.

And once he ascends to the throne room there is a little boy, a dancing lunatic, and that bit--I mean wench who knew what was going on all along.

And she kept crying and moaning and wailing woe is me.  When it was frankly her to blame for all this nonsense anyhow.

My character was VERY steamed under the collar.

So yes I tried to kill the boy, and I feel as if I am justified.

You might not think it's negative, but at least some of the party members are going to disagree -- some people are going to think killing an innocent child is a bad thing when other options are available, no matter what you say. There's no clear "good" choice nor a clear "bad" choice, as in many other places in the game.
