Well, let's see- yesterday, we had threads indicating the name "Shepard" is racist, as well as another thread pointing out the fact that there aren't enough people with "special needs" being represented in the Mass Effect Universe, and just now there is a thread about how un-ethnically diverse the names are in ME.

Well, I'm calling out BioWare for not putting in over-weight people prominently into the ME universe. Where's our Jabba the Hutt? Jek Porkins? The fat-dancing-chick-from-Return-of-the-Jedi?

George Lucas wasn't weigh-cist!

This thread was started as a joke, the previously mentioned ones were not.

Fat people are disgusting. No one wants to look at fatties in their video games.

Wow, that was offensive.

My point was that modifications to remove weight are readily available in the future, not that I was discriminatory toward obese people.

Hey now, Volus aren't over-weight... they evolved in non-oxygen environments and must wear those suits to survive! How do you know they don't carry stuff inside? They could be really skinny for all we know. Besides, I was referring to the humans.

I really can't believe that Lucas created a fat guy named Porkins. All I can think of is Family Guy when his name comes up.

Fat people don't have feelings so it's not as if Bioware are offending them.

But in all seriousness, I'm still confused on how all the men are so buff and all the women have perfect figures. They could've added a bit of realism by making Average looking bodies, fat people and skinny people. Heck, maybe add a few case of Dwarfism and Gigantism?

So there's a problem how?
as for the rest of those, "folks", italics for sympathy, they couldn't find anybody in their own world to listen, so we get it in here.

You, know, I know this is a joke thread, but I had prepared 4 page canonical explainations...

and now, I don't get to use them...

sigh.

Short Version: almost everyone you talk too is a cop, or in some sort or armed forces, fat people are not allowed. Hard workin colonist on the fringe of space are very active. I would bet you need to pass some health regulation to travel safely in space. Space is pretty rough physically.

Honestly, I agree. For example, why couldn't Aria have been a fat mob queen? Ok, that was a joke, but seriously, EVERY Asari has a hot body, every human woman from young to old has a hot body, Joker must do nothing but bench presses (although I can't imagine how) and pull ups, every mother has awesome hips, there aren't any fat back-water colonists, no food deprived ones, nothing.

Granted, I'll "make due" with it because it saves probably massive amounts of programming and data to have generic bodies that you just have to make different heads for.
