I really can't believe that Lucas created a fat guy named Porkins. All I can think of is Family Guy when his name comes up.

When I first say that episode, I had to rewind my DVR because I couldn't stop giggling for like 5 minutes and missed a bunch of the show. I'm even chuckling about it right now just thinking about it.

i am on the heavy side, but what really bothers me is the amount of smokeing ingame.

have stop smokeing for a while but when playing ME, i really feel a pull to smoke again.

as for fat people, that request a lot of extra coding, so they did not do that for various reasons.

Well, let's see- yesterday, we had threads indicating the name "Shepard" is racist, as well as another thread pointing out the fact that there aren't enough people with "special needs" being represented in the Mass Effect Universe, and just now there is a thread about how un-ethnically diverse the names are in ME.

Well, I'm calling out BioWare for not putting in over-weight people prominently into the ME universe. Where's our Jabba the Hutt? Jek Porkins? The fat-dancing-chick-from-Return-of-the-Jedi?

George Lucas wasn't weigh-cist!

This thread was started as a joke, the previously mentioned ones were not.

Ever seen a Volus? :)

yeah Volus are really the only round NPCs in game. I can't think of a single overweight NPC in ME1 or ME2 that isn't Volus. Rather than calling it prejudice or discrimination or exclusion, it probably has to do with character models. do you really want to have a more socially and culturally diverse group of NPCs or do you want that disc space to be used on primary story arcs?

I don't discourage the full spectrum of humanity being represented in the ME universe, but not at the expense of my primary story arcs and experience.

I'm rather portly. I'm not offended that people in my condition are not represented in the game. I mean, hell, if I want to look at somebody chubby while I played, I'd just put a mirror next to my monitor. Anyway, I can't speak for anybody but myself, but I have to say I'm pretty a-okay with seeing athletic, attractive characters, instead of more "gritty realism". I don't think the addition of double chins and sweat rings would make the game any more immersive.

i remember two people in ME1 who looked a little overweight. One was that C-Sec Officer you meet when entering the Wards through C-Sec, the other was that Scientist on Noveria, who wants to give you the Codes for the Purge. It was all in the face, though ;)

VOLUS DISAGREES

YOU'RE *wheeze* MOCKING *wheeze* ME *wheeze* EARTH-CLAN!

WIN!

I'm pretty sure somewhere it is said that the volus home world is a higher gravity environment, which would explain their stoutness.
