Liara doesn't even acknowledge Tali or Garrus. What a rude ****.

Now, I'm not a game developer, and while the writers did a great job in many aspects oft the game, I have to wonder how such a simple thing like this would be overlooked while writing the game, because if I were one of the writers this would be one of the things I'd insist on including early on. It's not hard to include a 5 second "great to see you again" line of dialogue towards the former teammates, is it?

I'm not surprised she didn't recognize them.
Wrex didn't either.

In fairness, it goes both ways. Tali and Garrus don't say anything to Liara either (that I'm aware of-correct me if I'm wrong). It just has to be attributed to a lack of time/oversight on the part of the devs. It's pretty minor, but a little extra dialogue would have been nice.
No, you're right, Tali and Garrus don't acknowledge Liara either, but the point is the same. The Developers didn't even bother to add in a 5 second "great to see you again" comment from anyone, even though you have teammates that literally saved the galaxy together and share a strong bond from that. Yet, not even a simple cinematic of them greeting each other? I mean, we get countless EMails from meaningless side NPC's we ran into in ME1 telling us how grateful they are we saved them, we just keep getting those notices all through the game to infer the depth of this galaxy, yet the writers don't bother to include a simple interaction if you bring your old teammates with?
Seems the Devs spent countless hours writing up those 100 or so EMails from past NPC encounters, yet didn't bother to write a 5 second teammate greeting. Don't know how that could be overlooked, considering the lenghty development time.

Its not like they were buddy friendly with each other. Liara even told Tali that she hoped the quarians were sufficiently contrite for making the geth in ME1. And ME1, i got the feeling nobody other than Shepard liked Wrex very much.
It would hvae been a nice touch if Tali or garrus threw a quip or 2, maybe something about Liara not contacting them to get Shepard's body back, which was done in the comic

I think Wrex's ignoring Garrus and Tali was on purpose just to be rude, from the looks of the Elevator dialogues in Mass Effect 1, I think it's safe to say Wrex hates them both. Along with Ashley and Kaidan, his relationship with Liara seems to be a love/hate but slightly on the hate side because she's an Asari. "What are the Asari looking for another friend?" -Wrex when Liara objects to killing the Rachni Queen.
I don't think it has anything to do with the characters (Wrex or Liara). Bioware just didn't include much squad-interaction, period. This goes for the new crew as well.

Yes, this is another shortcoming of ME2. New squad mates don't interact with each other, old squad mates don't interact with each other. It sucks.
For me it becomes a tad bit infuriating because ME2 really is a great game on so many levels. It is a lot closer to perfection than most developers come close to, yet there's these (mostly) small things that irritate me beacuse they would've improved the game so much more. Maybe if a BioWare Developer were to read this they might say "it's a small thing, who cares", but as they say God is in the details. Not looking for a half hour conversation between the former team mates, a simple 5 second response ("great to see you again!") would've worked great and made me happy. That lack of personal interaction or acknowledgement between my former teammates makes the game feel weird to me.

Anyway, yeah, it was a little weird not to see them speaking or even reacting at all. Wrex... didn't care that much, cause he was always like that. Liara, on the other hand... But, anyway, in my opinion in ME1 every squadmate was there because you wanted them to be there. They never spoke to much each other. Just remember Ash's jokes about Liara, Liara's comments about Tali and Wrex comments about everyone else.
Oh, and Kaidan. That poor thing no one cared about in my team (not really, my shepard was the freak that kept kaidan away from the rest of the team. He's just that bad).
Glad to see that Garrus really seem to know who the hell Ashley was. Same between Tali and Garrus.

I agree. They didn't need to bro-hug each other or anything, just one line of acknowledgement a piece would do.
Liara should have acknowledged and been acknowledged by Tali, Garrus, and Miranda. Wrex just Tali and Garrus.

No dialogue was written for it. I find this absolutely frustrating, along with the fact that Shepard cannot reply to Ash/Kaidan's emails and along with the fact that Liara barely acknowledges her relationship with Shepard.
I feel like there was minimal thought put into the cameos of Ashley/Kaidan/Liara. They didn't feel special at all.
Now Wrex's cameo is different. What's different from him and Ash/Kaidan/Liara? It's simple. He wasn't an LI.
Part of me wonders if Bioware wants us to forget our original LIs just so they can tell this 'awesome' bit of story when you find someone else. It isn't going to happen with me, that's for sure

Liara has become an obsessed ****, in my opinion. Last 2 years destroyed her as a person.
See, I don't even feel like the lack of acknowledgement/interaction between Liara and Garrus/Tali is intentional, or character driven. It really feels like it was a lack of the writers including it. Even if Liara were somehow pissed off at or hated Garrus/Tali, she could still just coldly look at each of them and say "Garrus. Tali". Or, we see her look at each of them, there's an uncomfortable brief silence, then she just addresses Sheppard. But there's none of that. No acknowledgement whatsoever, and it feels like the writer's fault, not the characters'.
