Liara doesn't even acknowledge Tali or Garrus. What a rude ****.

Would have been nice to see Garrus, Tali and Liara having a brief chat, but its hardly game breaking.

Well, for me it is sort of game breaking. Not that it completely ruins the game for me, but moreso that it pulls me out of the game when my former teammates who worked together to save the galaxy on the mission of a lifetime don't even acknowledge each other while standing in the same room, because obviously the writers didn't think to include something simple but obvious like that. For as much hype was built up about Loyalty and how important it is to this game, what about Loyalty with my past teammates that I felt I built up bonds and relationships with? And when bringing Tali and Garrus with while seeing Liara, they don't even say one word to each other in a brief cinematic? Just a simple "Great to see you again!" 5 second bit of dialogue? The point I'm making here is, the game is supposed to fully immerse me in another world that is a gloriously realized universe in many ways, but when my former teammates that I intentionally brought with to meet up again can't even acknowledge each other, that pulls me out of the game.

So they don't think it's odd whatsoever that the old crew is getting back together?

Your claim is a little far-fetched.  Even if the old crew hated each other's guts, they still spent a lot of time working together, and they all saved the galaxy together.  That's not a bond just anyone can claim.  They would definitely acknowledge one another and engage in some talk.

It's just an omission of dialogue that should obviously be there, pure and simple.

Duh. We are talking about possible causes in character, not a discussion on what is the definitive reason. If you actually understand project management (even better, IT project management), obviously things must be cut out unless you have infinite time and resources, in which case you should expect ME2 happening in the year 3000

I do not know if you have actually worked in a large company. Working togther when you and the others are disliking each other is considered a basic part of being a professional. The scenerio is frankly not as difficult as you think if you had actual life experience

Right, cause it costs millions of dollars to have voice actors you've already hired to say a couple extra lines of dialogue for recording equipment you already have.  Tell me, is it difficult for you to hold a conversation with your friends?  I understand your voice can be pretty muffled when you have your head up your ass.

And I don't know if you've ever saved the entire galaxy, but no matter what you feel about the people you're working with to save the entire galaxy, it's a pretty big deal.  But apparently being an employee of a company forms exactly the same kind of relationship in your mind.

Frankly, it's quite a bit to swallow if you have half a brain.  If you met someone you saved the entire galaxy with, who was part of the very small squad you were in that saved the entire galaxy, it would be impossible to feel indifferent about that person.  There would be questions involved, or any kind of response whether hostile or friendly.  Garrus and Tali just stood there like drones staring off into space as I spoke with Liara and Wrex.  They did not even so much as nod to one another, or give each other disapproving glances.  I guess this costs millions of dollars to do too, right?  And would delay the game for a BILLION YEAAARS.

Thanks, you have just shown you know nothing about management and even less about IT. Well done.

I would hazard using your thinking that you are tight with TIM since he helped you save the galaxy. Yes excellent. You really have very little life experience to not understand what being a professional and getting the job done regardless of feelings means.

Thanks for clarifying.

The lack of old squadmate interactions bothered me as well and I agree that it wouldn't have taken much time to do it.  Just a, "hey, how ya doing? wha cha been up to since we put our foot in Saen's behind?".  They may as well have been complete strangers.

... and Garrus and Tali don't say anything to Liara either. And actually, they hit on Shepard even if you romanced Liara...

Edit: I meant "Liara".

What do those things have to do with voice over work in games?

Go ahead.  This should be rich.  No, really.  Please enlighten us on how asking the actors to say a couple extra lines of dialogue would've cost Bioware an arm and a leg, and how it would've delayed ME2 so our grandkids would've been playing it during our wakes.  You sounded so confident in your rebuttal that I need your profound insight to understand.

Please, let us know.  We're ready to learn why recording a few extra lines from actors you've already hired using equipment you already own is outlandishly out of budget.

So if Shepard saw TIM in a coffee shop one day in Mass Effect 3, he wouldn't say a peep to him.  It was strictly a "working relationship".  It is completely realistic that he wouldn't so much as glance or say a single word to him.

Are you done embarrassing yourself now?

Perhaps they didn't bother with all the squad chatter and interactions that endear us to them, because yet again, they have no plans to bring them back for ME3.

Bleh, but you have to understand Bioware position with this.

11-12 damn characters. To make all them talk each other... I think its not woth the time, if you ask me. I would like to have it, but I understand what happened

Heh.  Never played Dragon Age, eh?

Exactly.  Dragon Age had tons of variable interactions.  Everything from certain encounters triggering a response from a romance to Oghren collapsing if you and Leliana have a threesome!

i hear you. there were a lot of reasons i took Tali and Garrus along on missions/trips to cities based on occurances in ME1. namely to see Anderson on the Citadel, i was both suprised and dissapointed that there was no recognition whatsoever of my squadmates by Anderson. to be fair, it must be hard to deeal with all of this voice-acting, but still would have been awesome if done better.

Right, that's another encounter that's ignored, Anderson with Garrus or Tali. Granted, Anderson wasn't tight with either of them since he wasn't with them on the Normandy during the duration of the ME1 mission, but he did know them and again a quick and simple nod by Anderson to each of them.... "Garrus. Tali. Good to see you again."  Then Anderson goes on to his business with Sheppard (after all, Anderson is diplomatic). I doubt voice actor Keith David would charge BioWare an arm and a leg to speak that one extra line of dialogue, heck BioWare could record the actor while he says that one line over the telephone from the comfort of his own home if they decided late in development they wanted that one extra line in the game. It would just help add more immersion to the game, drawing you further into the reality of the game. instead of these characters not even acknowledging each other when they obviously know each other which pulls me out of the game since it's so disjarring.

This reminds me of a lot of comic book fans saying "Why doesn't person X bring up history Y with other person Z?".

The reason is, because sometimes people don't want to talk about it. Everyone has said you Shepard that things have changed a lot in the last two years. Maybe the reminders of what happened are like reopening old scars. It's things people don't want to talk about, so they don't.

As far as seeing TIM in a cafe years later and saying nothing... sure I would if I didn't think there was anything worth saying to him.

I undestand your point....but for crying out loud you just saved the freaking galaxy!  How do you not talk about that?  It's not like you're talking about that humongous cold sore on your friends lip or the fact that your boy's girl friend looks uncomfortably plump...you saved galactic civilization as well know it..  Jeezus, someone should at least ask how the hell you been since we saved every stinkin' body..
