What new characters/personalities would you like in Awakenings?

I'd be interested in a more woodland, rustic character - a human hunter or woodsman, or a regular dalish who knows something of the outside. I was surprised when I got the ranger specialization in DA:O and couldn't think of one companion it would be appropriate for. I ended up giving Survival to Morrigan, which was odd but fit.
I’d also be interested in interacting more with surface dwarves outside of the buy/sell screen. They’re apparently as numerous as underground dwarves, but only exist on the fringes of society. Have they created their own culture?
The qunari heathens would be interesting, because I never quite figured out what Sten was going on about.
Lastly, I’d be interested in a Ferelden freeman. It was odd, but in Origins, we never have any idea how the average person in Ferelden thinks or what opinions they have. Half the companions are from other lands, two of them are mages, and then there’s the bastard son of the king raised by nobility before being sent to the Templars.
What I’m saying is that it would be nice to have a sort of salt-of-the-earth character.

Qunari are always welcome in any shape or form. More Qunari lore is needed. Edit: While not new, still wanted.
And my male mage without any stick up but wish seems to have been granted.

And a romanceable female elf.

- Female elf romance. I would have preferred a Rogue, as Velanna seems like... well, Morrigan as an elf. But perhaps that only means one will like her personality as they did Morrigan's.
- A mentor. Honestly, someone like Duncan in the party would be a nice change. Wynne didn't really fit the bill, in my opinion. Considering she's on the brink of death and turns Alistair into a five-year-old. A veteran with real battle experience would be better.

We've already established that everyone hates the idea of female elven romances, so what new characters and personlaities would you like to see in Awakenings?
Maria, I am sorry but I think it's a given. I can't say I am a big fan of the VA choice, either... NO DON'T BE SKEPTICAL, LUCY. BE POSTITIVE. POSITIVE. HARNESS THE SQUEE.
Uh, anyway. I would like to see more... neutral characters, like Gannayev. I liked how he kind of let the PC do their thing and really only interjected when it was really... against his morals. Iunno. I always really like the chilled out characters. Zevran was probably my favourite from Origins.
I'd like to see more badazzzzz-types. Y'know. Really cool people who have cool one liners and have cool hair and youknow... Yeah.

The first companion disobeying my commands in front of my eyes would get his ass heavily kicked.
Whatever, my wish for personalities:
* Female human warrior, evil clishee character (but well done nonetheless), maybe with reaver or berserker specialication. Behead first ask later. But not too exaggerated, not a mindless killing machine, a nice balance would be great. A dubious character, a companion you cannot trust easily.
* A clear minded neutral wise arcane warrior, the kind of companion helping with your leadership decisions, like a mentor helping you finding the way whenever its difficult to see. Something like a 1st lieutenant, someone you can trust no matter what.
In DAO it felt like I served that role.

This is something I really, REALLY wish they would add eventually down the line. A character (or a set of characters) that work with you but still have moments where they act out of free will. I mean the only time you see that is during the whole Sacred Urn quest in DA: O, or when Sten challenges you at Dunwich. But in both of those instances they are challenging you directly, not challenging your actions in a way that would create real depth.

The fans don't hate you at all. We're quite find of you. It's just that you're so suave and self-assured, we feel a bit bashful in your presence, and some of us hide it by lashing out.

Besides the instances of free will in DA gave the game a better flavor plot wise (Morrigan potentially leaving, Wynne/Leliana's death, Sten leaving, Alistair killing Loghain in cold blood or him leaving), its just that expanding on it so that it would be expected might be better received.

I was hoping for a Tevinter mage, but we have had two mage reveals so guess thats out.
Someone more mentally unstable might be amusing, Tiax was my favorite BG character.

Isn't O Fortuna, about Fortune and Fate, and how while it is good it can also destroy?
You want Two-Face from Batman:P?

The interesting thing is we don't know the 2 new specializations for each class, and there's a very good reason to suspect the 3 remaining unannounced companions are somehow built "around" some of those unknown specializations.
Oh, and since Shale isn't returning, maybe we can get a Steel Golem this time.

1) Female warrior type. ( even older would be great -i would have loved someone like Mama Cousland)
2) would love an older male character ( a la Loghain)
3) surface dwarf
4) Qunari female - qunari heathen suggested would be great too
5) human commoner
6) dalish ranger-type
7) anything slightly off the obvious -- not quite dalish templar but maybe Qunari female warrior (or priest - would love to meet a female qunari
8) Caladrius-type.

Highly agree with this! It is a moment like that, where you are questioned or your companions seem to act of their own free will that adds a LOT to a game like this. Element of surprise = good.
