Good.
So how the hell do you guys figure that would work with anybody, let alone Tali?

Kikai says it best: "Romance =/= sex" They could have a platonic relationship.

AKA friendship, and not a pairing.

Not necissarily, they can still have feelings for each other, but just not have sex.

I disagree. And it wouldn't be platonic in that case.

Even if Legion has budding emotions, that doesn't make him capable of everything an organic is. Attraction to another being is heavily dependent on hormones and the like. And even if they were capable of loving eachother, I think it would be highy out of character for Tali.

True, and I agree that it would be out of character for Tali.
And we see that Legion becomes capable of opinion, and we get little hints that he is starting to experience 'emotions' like sadness or regret after his loyalty mission, so who's to say he couldn't develop feelings for someone. I don't think a relationship with Tali is possible, but maybe with another.

Ya I could see him becoming attached to someone but I don't think he would express the attachment as wanting to do something like hug them. More like protect them or try to learn from them.

For the record I'm fine with the Tali/Legion pictures, they're funny. I just don't understand how people think a romantic relationship would really work.

The Love-hate relationship between Tali and Legion takes on a brand new role.

I agree with this, he probably wouldn't understand the stuff like hugging, but I can see him becoming very protective of those he 'cares' for (can't think of a better word right now).

That is mainly the reason I like them, they're ironic and funny.

Like Shepard-Commander?

Meh, I disagree when you say that Legion wouldn't understand stuff like hugging. The geth are quite capable of reading dictionaries.

I think if Legion were to grow close to someone, he (they) would probably do some research on interpersonal relationships, much like how you've done in your writing, Camo. This would be especially true if that person asked him to or mentioned that it would be a good idea.

Oh, you mean like this:

Location: Normandy SR2, Port Observation

Charla sat on the couch of the port observation bay, enjoying the sight
of a nearby star cluster the Normandy was in view of. It was a
beautiful blue cloud, with a white ball of light in the center of the
whispy strands of color. They were preparing to go on some new mission,
but nobody knew very much about it. All they knew is that it was
important, and it was dangerous. Charla was just enjoying the calm
before the storm.
Charla didn't even hear the door behind her
open. "Charla." A synthesized voice spoke behind her. She stood up and
turned around.
"Legion, don't you have work to do?" Charla wondered what the geth was doing there, but she didn't really mind the company.
"We have completed our assigned tasks. We have also completed an extranet search, on the organic term flirting."
Legion responded, the door closing behind him. The panels on his head
opened slightly then closed again, emphasising the end of his statement.
"What made you do that?" Charla asked, confused.
"The last time we spoke, you recommended that we try to flirt with you." Legion had some difficulty pronouncing the strange word.

"You didn't need to do that, I think I was actually a little drunk when
I said that." Charla rubbed her neck, still embarrased at how she had
acted that night.
     "We detected that you were intoxicated;
however, we still felt the need to research this. We can not understand
why." Legion walked to the middle of the room. "Your eyes are a bright
color, and your body is well proportioned." Legion attempted to use
some of the information he had found on the extranet, though it didn't
come out the way he had learned it.
Charla giggled a little, her mandibles twitching happily. "Well, close enough for me. Thank you Legion."
"You are welcome Charla." Legion paused for a moment, a series of quiet clicks and buzzing could be heard. "Charla?"
     "Yes Legion?" Charla responded.
"We request for you to join us on a date." Legion again tried to pronounce the strange term.
"Legion...I don't know what to say." Charla didn't expect for him to ask her out, but she didn't mind it either.

The two panels on the outside of Legion's head dropped down, "Your
denial is accepted. We will not bother you any longer." Legion said as
he turned toward the door.
"No, wait Legion." Charla caught up
to Legion and grabbed onto his upper arm. Legion stopped and turned to
her. "That isn't what I meant, I was just surprised is all." Charla
paused for a second. "I really like you Legion. You're a funny guy, and
you are really nice to me." Charla's voice got quieter. "I never
thought I would meet anyone quite like you, and I'm glad I did."
"Flattery accepted." Legion said after a short sequence of buzzing.
"I would love to go on a date with you Legion." Charla said as she moved her hand from Legion's arm down to his hand.

Legion looked down at the small turian hand which was now holding his.
He did a quick search through the extranet for the appropriate
response. He looked back up at her face, and slowly closed his fingers
over her delicate hand. Charla's mandibles twitched slightly at the
feeling.
"What do you have in mind for this date Legion?" Charla asked after a brief silence.
"We understand that it is customary for organics to share food during a date." Legion stated, still getting hung up on the word 'date'.

"No, that won't work. You couldn't eat anything, and that would be rude
for me to just eat in front of you like that." Charla said, looking
around for an idea. "Here, I've got something." Charla pulled Legion
over to the couch she had been sitting on. "Would you like to enjoy the
view with me?"
Legion took a moment to build a conscensus on the issue, "Acknowledged."
Charla's mandibles opened slightly to form a smile, and she sat down on the couch, motioning for Legion to join her.

Legion did another extranet search, still unsure of what to do. After
finding a result, he took a seat next to her. Charla leaned back into
him, prompting more confusion for the geth. Luckily, he quickly
understood. He placed one arm over her shoulder, pulling her close to
him. With the other hand he took hold of one of hers, holding it
loosely. It felt awkward for Charla, but she adjusted slightly finding
a more comfortable spot. After she got comfortable the two of them sat
quietly, enjoying each other's company. After a short while Charla
slowly drifted off to sleep in the geth's arms. He noticed, but decided
not to wake her. He sat still, watching her sleep, experiencing some
unknown sensation at the sight of her sleeping in his arms.

God damn it has been a long time since I looked at this.

I think people anthropomorphize Legion too much in general (calling it/they a 'him', etc.) Doesn't Legion have a quote in-game where it/they state(s) this, and says it's (even unintentional) racism?

I can't remember the exact line, but I kinda remember it. All I know is that in Overlord Shepard calls Legion 'him'.

I just use 'he' because I always just thought Legion seemed like a male, both due to the voice and the body build. And it feels wierd to call a sentient being an 'it'.

It's no worse than calling an asari "she". Monogendered or genderless, it doesn't really matter, but for most people, using gender-specific pronouns reduces confusion in everyday speech.

No it's just that with so few posters, the thread simply goes through some deadtime. Which isn't all bad. I can actually keep up with conversations on here. Unlike the Tali thread where I never dare look at the old pages that passed while I was gone. Or the mega-chat thread on the other Tali forum.
