Of course the next scene is a kiss so that is where my interpretation of the similarities ends. I don't think Shepard should be kissing geth anyway though, especially with all those exposed wires. It may end up like kissing a downed power line. I'll just stick to the on button. (not an innuendo...)

EDI & Legion LI? Legion has infiltrated EDI once before, and EDI said it was like a thousand hands on her or whatever. But that was just the warm-up. With EDI's unshackled AI heart finally at the helm, who knows where their small budding relationship will take these 2.

It seems like the geth could develop something beyond basic computing and understanding of a situation as the grow to have more knowledge about themselves and other races. Knowledge can cast different light on different situations leading towards a culturally influenced idea of what is going on. Though I suppose for this theory to be acceptable you would have to accept geth as having culture. I think they do, personally, but I won't get into that now.
So I figure why not? The geth operate on electricity, impulses which stimulate their bodies to react. If they have cultural knowledge and relationships with others a decision could be pulled in a different way. Logically computing a situation with the information, ties and background at hand.
I suppose my evidence for this would be their strong belief in self-determination or the heritic belief in the old machines. These are beliefs created and perpetuated by the beings who hold them. These created conflict strong enough for one faction to wish to "brain wash" another. The galaxy is a big place and the heretics sure don't seem against going beyond the veil. They also have access to materials to create more platforms elsewhere. It seems like engaging in a conflict is illogical. Then there is Legion's questioning of how they became so different. Without emotion what need is there to question?
I guess I could say something about Legion's apparent "conflict" over the destruction of the base but I think I've already said enough to get me yelled at anyway. So there ya have it...

On his loyalty he seems to show some kind of grief about the Heretics leaving. The tone of his voice as he says "What did we do wrong?" like he's crying inside.
At the Citadel, Legion appears to be arguing with the Customs officer and shows distinct disagreement and a sort of mild annoyance when he says "Geth do not Intentionally Infiltrate."
His lines in the later part of the "There was a hole" conversation definately indicate some sort of fear of Shepard.
And the Heretics gained spiritual belief, don't tell me that doesn't require emotions of some kind.
