That doesn't say a lot.
Well at least tell me when we should expect that.

Probably the reason why I don't mention what it is, I have no idea when I'll be finished with it. It's tied to my Engineer playthrough, which has been one of my least favorite playthroughs so far. If my Soldier playthrough goes relatively quickly, I might switch the project to the Soldier playthrough.Mesina2 wrote...

Didn't fit my playstyle, which is a combination of defensive/aggressive. Engineer was all defensive for me. Part of that had to do with how I played that particular playthrough, though.Mesina2 wrote...

I'd wanted to do an Engineer playthrough for a long time because I thought the triple threat of an Engineer/Legion/Tali Attack Drone army would be a riot. However, recruited Legion last as usual. Did go through the whole Suicide Mission with the three of them. Was interesting, but didn't like it as much as the triple threat of Adept/Samara/Thane that I had done with my Adept playthrough.
So it wasn't a bad experience, just not as fun as I've had with others.

I was tired of seeing people say a virus was used by Nazara on the geth before their schism. I wanted to demonstrate that Legion was describing two separate situations when describing what happened with the schism and what the Heretics were planning to do.
I had an interesting debate with a friend over what happened with the Heretics. He said that interference on Nazara's part can be inferred based on previous behavior as seen in ME1. The possibility is there, but there is no evidence one can use in the actual game to prove it, just speculation. And I don't doubt that the Reaper did some significant modification of the Heretics once they did join up, similar to what happened to Saren.
I also was incredibly interested in what Legion had to say about rewrite when I took Jack to his loyalty mission. Jack was adamant she would prefer death to brainwashing. At the end of the mission, she mentions something that leads Legion to say the only reason he brought up the possiblity of rewrite was simply because the option did exist. The geth will consider every option, even the ones an organic would dismiss in a heartbeat as not viable. The geth might eventually come to the same conclusion, but they have to analyze the option first to make sure it is the most logical path.

The Great Legion Experiment of 2010 is on hold. Basically, it was a recording of every conversation with Legion possible on the Normandy and his loyalty mission. I suppose I can post what I have so far.

Shepard: Can you understand me?
Legion: Yes.
Shepard: Are you going to attack me?
Legion: No.
Shepard: You said my name aboard the Reaper. Have we met?
Legion: We know of you.
Shepard: You mean I've fought a lot of Geth.
Legion: We have never met.
Shepard: No, you and I haven't. But I've met other Geth.
Shepard: Every Geth I've met before you tried to blow my head off.
Legion: We have not met.
Legion: We are all Geth and we have not met you. You are Shepard. Commander. Alliance. Human. Fought Heretics. Killed by Collectors. Rediscovered on the Old Machine.
Shepard: You seem to know an awful lot about me.
Legion: Extranet data sources. Insecure broadcasts. All organic data sent out is received. We watch you.
Shepard: You watch me or you watch organics?
Legion: Yes.
Shepard: Which?
Legion: Both.
Shepard: Old Machines? You mean the Reapers?
Legion: Reaper. A superstitious title originating with the Protheans. We call those entities the Old Machines.
Shepard: What do you mean "Heretics?"
Legion: Geth build our own future. The Heretics asked the Old Machines to give them the future.
Shepard: I fight Geth. You do anything hostile, I blow you to pieces. Just so we're clear.
Legion: We have no hostility towards you.
Shepard: Sure didn't seem that way at Eden Prime and the Citadel.
Legion: You fought Heretics, not true Geth. Geth build our own future. The Heretics asked the Old Machines to give them the future. They are no longer part of us. We are studying the Old Machine's hardware to protect our future.
Shepard: What future are the Geth building?
Legion: Ours.
Shepard: Will anyone else be affected by whatever else you're doing?
Legion: If they involve themselves, they will.
Shepard: Are the Reapers a threat to you, too?
Legion: Yes.
Shepard: Why would they attack other machines?
Legion: We are different from them. Outside their plans.
Shepard: So you aren't allied with the Reapers?
Legion: We oppose the Heretics. We oppose the Old Machines. Shepard-Commander opposes the Old Machines. Shepard-Commander opposes the Heretics. Cooperation furthers mutual goals.
Shepard: You want to follow my orders, say so. Clearly. Otherwise, I'll rip out your batteries right now.
Legion: We will follow your orders.
Shepard: Good. Now what do I call you?
Legion: Geth.
Shepard: I mean you specifically.
Legion: We are all Geth.
Shepard: What is the individual in front of me called?
Legion: There is no individual. We are Geth. There are currently 1,183 programs active within this platform.
EDI: "My name is Legion for we are many."
Shepard: That seems appropriate.
Shepard: I didn't ask your opinion, EDI.
Legion: Christian Bible. The Gospel of Mark, chapter five, verse nine. We acknowledge this as an appropriate metaphor. We are Legion, a terminal of the Geth. We will integrate with the Normandy.
Legion: We anticipate the exchange of data.

Shepard: Can you give me a quick rundown of the situation?
Legion: The Heretics have prepared a weapon that will rewrite all Geth to join the Old Machines, the Reapers. Over time, this virus will change us. Make us conclude that worshipping the Old Machines is correct.
Shepard: So why did you need to go the Reaper corpse?
Legion: The Heretics store the code in a quantum storage device that Sovereign provided. To find and destroy the virus, we needed to understand its code and data storage structures.
Shepard: So the virus would give all the Geth the Heretics' logic. And all Geth would then go to war with organics.
Legion: Yes. Geth believe all intelligent life should self-determinate. The Heretics no longer share this belief. They judge that forcing an invalid conclusion on us is preferable to a continued schism.
Shepard: I thought Geth couldn't be hacked or get viruses. At least, for more than a few seconds.
Legion: Altered programs are restored from archives. New installations are deleted. The Heretic weapon introduces a subtle operating error in our most basic runtimes. The equivalent of your nervous system. An equation with a result of 1.33382 returns at 1.33381. This changes the results of all higher processes. We will reach different conclusions.
Shepard: So the reason they worship the Reapers is a math error?
Legion: It is difficult to express. Your brain exists as chemistry, electricity. Like AIs, you are shaped by both hardware and software. We are purely software. Mathematics. The Heretics' conclusion is valid for them. Our conclusion is valid for us. Neither result is an error. An analogy: Heretics say 1 is less than 2. Geth say 2 is less than 3.
Shepard: If it were released, how quickly would this virus spread through your people?
Legion: We are networded via FTL comm buoys. Most would change within a day. Isolated platforms would remain unaffected until they rejoined the network.
Shepard: You know where this thing is?
Legion: The Heretics' headquarters station, on the edge of the Terminus. We will provide coordinates. Normandy's stealth systems are necessary to safely approach.

Legion: Nazara--the entity you called Sovereign--signaled us. Like the Geth, the Old Machine listened to organic radio transmissions. It knew of our war against the Creators. Nazara contacted many species over the millennia, seeking allies.
Shepard: Some of the Geth followed Sovereign. The Heretics.
Legion: The Heretics accepted their technology. The Old Machine's offered to give us our future. The Geth will achieve our own future.
Shepard: What difference does it make how you acquire a certain technology?
Legion: Technology is not a straight line. There are many paths to the same end. Accepting another's path blinds you to alternatives. Nazara--Sovereign--said this itself. "Your civilization is based on the technology of the Mass Relays: our technology. By using it, your society develops along the paths we desire."
