I decided to expand on it...I like the idea of it too much.
1 Day Later
The crew exited the breifing room, Shepard had just finished informing the team on their next mission. A large mining ship had been found abandoned in orbit above an uncharte planet. The first attempt to salvage the ship met with failure, the entire crew of the rescue ship dropped out of contact after sending one message. They claimed that the crew had been turned into 'synthetic monsters'. The crew of the Normandy knew all to well what that meant, husks. And if there were husks, there was reaper technology. According to crew logs from the two ships, there were over 300 combined crew on the ships, which meant there were a lot of husks. The easiest way to do this would be to just blow the ships out of the sky with the Thanix Cannon, but Shepard saw this as an opportunity to study reaper technology. The mission was incredibly dangerous, the possibility of nearly 300 husks possibly on the ship had everyone on edge. Shepard told them they all had three hours to themselves before they reached the location of the derelict ships.
Charla walked into the AI core about an hour after the briefing, the door opening and closing silently. She slowly walked up behind the geth that was standing at the end of the room. He was busy preparing his weapons for
the upcoming mission. He checked each part of his Widow rifle to ensure it was working properly. He stopped only when he heard a familiar voice from behind him.
"Legion." Charla said quietly.
The geth spun around, his synthetic eye focusing on Charla. "Charla. We recommend you prepare for the upcoming mission."
"I've alreay finished my preparations." Charla responded as she came to a stop in front of Legion.
"Charla, we detect that you have an increased heartrate and respiration. Is there an issue?" Legion asked as his top right head flap rose up.
"No, I mean it isn't really an issue, it is just that..." Charla paused for a moment, "I'm scared Legion. I know this
mission is really important, but I'm afraid of what might happen." As she spoke she looked up into Legion's synthetic eye, which widened its gaze slightly.
After a brief pause, Legion spoke. "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself." The geth quoted, attempting to calm the worried turian before him.
"I would like to believe that Legion, but I just can't. Knowing what the husks are, what we could become...I just can't shake the thought from my head." Charla looked down as she spoke.
Legion performed a quick extranet search, attempting to find a way to comfort Charla. He found what he hoped would be an appropriate response, and he slowly placed his arms around her, embracing her.
Charla did the same, hugging the geth as she placed her head on his chest. They held their embrace for a minute or two, then Charla lifted her head up, looking Legion in the eye. "Thank you Legion. I really needed that."
"Have you regained composure?" Legion asked, his synthetic voice filling the room.
Charla giggled a little, "Yes. I'm alright." She responded.
Just then they both heard the door open, and they looked over. Shepard was standing in the doorway, his mouth wide open and his eyes looking like they were about to explode from his head. He was in complete shock
seeing Charla and Legion still embracing each other. Shepard quickly turned and walked out of the AI core, leaving the two alone again.
Charla's mandibles rose slightly, in a form of blushing, while Legion just stared at the door. Charla turned back to Legion, "Looks like Jacob won his bet." She said as her mandibles opened into a smile.
Legion looked down at her, "We were unaware of a bargain. We request an explination." He said, confused.
"I'll explain it to you later, it's a long story." Charla responded as she tightened her grip on Legion.
"Acknowledged. It is a date."
