I'd just like to add a link to a chapter of a fanfic called Exitus. The chapters are centered around different characters, this chapter I'm linking is centered around Legion before he met up with Shepard. It is without a doubt the most interesting interpretation of Legion I have read:

This is the conclusion of last night's story, at 1:30 (local time for me. 11:30 bioware time) as promised. Enjoy.
"Sir, there's a vehicle landing down that street. What should we do?" A mercenary asked his captain as he watched a bright red shuttle land down the street a ways.
The mercenary captain stepped beside the scout, looking down the street. "Ignore it for now. Probably just some stupid tourist. Fire a warning shot if he gets too close, kill him if he gets closer." The captain ordered. Turning back to the door behind him. "I have to get to work. If anything happens," The captain picked up a small cargo hook from the table outside of the door. "Let me know." The captain walked through the door, walking across the upper pathway to the room at the far side.
As the door closed behind him his scout turned back to watch the street. He looked through the scope of his sniper, searching for any trouble. Suddenly, he and his rifle fell to the floor loudly, a hole through the scope and the scout's eye.
"What the hell was that?" The mercenary captain turned, looking at the door behind him. He qued up his radio, "Hey, did anyone else hear something?"
"Yes sir. I'm checking it out now." A mercenary answered him.
"Good, let me know what you find." The captain responded, turning back to his current task. He walked across the room to a chair they had set up in the center. Their prisoner was tied in place, and it looked like she had finally come to. "Remember me?" The captain asked, stepping in front of the turian, swirling the hook around.
Charla opened her eyes, looking at the captain's busted up nose, then down at the hook he was twirling. She closed her eyes again as the mercenary began to walk toward her, and looked down at the ground.
"Sir!" A mercenary yelled into the door.
"What?" The captain responded, stopping in his tracks, annoyed by the constant intrusions.
"The sniper is dead, and that geth is just across the bridge." The mercenary explained.
The captain looked at his soldier for a second, then responded. "I think that the 10 of you can hold off a single geth. I'll stay here, and meet you when I'm done." The captain said, looking back at Charla.
"Yes sir." The mercenary turned and ran down the stairs.
"Now, where was I?" The captain turned back toward Charla, whose eyes were still closed, her head still pointed to the ground.
Legion pulled the geth pulse rifle off of his back, preparing to engage the mass of mercenaries that had started to stir within the base. He had made the right choice when he decided to get extra gear from the Normandy before going to the base. He had gotten his pulse rifle, his Widow sniper, and stolen a grenade from Zaeed.
Legion fired an entire thermal clip's worth of shots into the closest mercenary, pushing the merc into the wall, his limp corpse sliding down the wall after the firing stopped. Legion slapped in another thermal clip, turning his attention to another merc. He fired a few shots to drop the merc's shields then he activated his combat drone. The drone dashed into the un-shielded merc, sending an electric bolt into his eyes. The merc dropped in place, unconscious from the shock.
Legion spun around his cover on the bridge, moving to the wall of the building. He leaned around the corner, grabbing on to a mercenary that was running by. He spun the merc around and threw him back into the room, firing a burst from his pulse rifle into the mercenary as he stumbled forward. Legion tossed his grenade across to the staircase, where a column of 3 mercs was running down. The grenade detonated, throwing the mercenaries across the room, killing them on impact.
Legion dashed into the main room of the structure, taking cover behind the large couch as the 4 remaining mercenaries fired at him from the balcony on his right. Legion activated his drone behind the mercenaries, distracting the one that it zapped. Legion then leaned around the corner, his shields got hammered by fire, but he continued. He pulled out his Widow and fired a shot through the head of the distracted mercenary, dropping him instantly, but not before Legion's drone was destroyed.
Legion ducked back into cover, laying his Widow on the floor beside him, and pulling out his pulse rifle as his shields recharged. He stood up and used his omni-tool to overload the remaining mercenary's shields, and swept two of them with fire from his rifle. He slapped in another new clip and turned his attention to the final mercenary, firing the entire clip into his head. With that Legion stood up, placing the pulse rifle on his back. He picked up his Widow and placed it next to the pulse rifle, and walked up the stairs.
Legion pressed the key to open the door at the top of the stairs. He looked across the room to his left, immediately recognizing the mercenary with the broken nose. The mercenary did nothing upon seeing Legion. A few feet to the right of the mercenary he saw Charla, tied to a chair, her head hanging down. Her blue blood was dripping down the legs of the chair forming a pool of blue on the floor beneath the chair. Legion looked back to the mercenary, seeing the hook in his hand, dripping with blue blood. Legion's head flaps instantly formed back into a frill, his eye narrowing back to a white-hot pinpoint. He pulled the Widow from his back, but didn't even aim it at the mercenary, instead he threw it across the room, impacting the merc's legs, throwing him off of his feet.
The mercenary let out a grunt of pain as he hit the ground, and groaned as Legion's hand gripped the back of his head. Legion lifted the mercenary into the air, and hung him out of the window to his left, dangling him over the edge by his throat.
"Just kill me d**n it." The mercenary managed to say as blood ran from his mouth.
Legion held the mercenary in place over the staircase, his eye focused on the mercenary's face, slowly tightening his grip around the mercenary's neck. A few loud cracks could be heard after a short while, the merc's face cringing in pain with each sound.
"Legion!" Shepard yelled from the bottom floor, the rest of the team behind him.
Legion looked down at the team, slightly loosening his grip. "Shepard-Commander." He responded, still holding the choking mercenary.
" We need him alive Legion!" Shepard yelled to make the geth to spare the mercenary for questioning. Legion looked down at Shepard, and started to pull the mercenary back into the window, but as he turned he saw Charla's bloody body again. He quickly turned back out of the window and launched the mercenary across the room.
"Jack! Catch him!" Shepard yelled. The mercenary was covered in a shroud of blue as Jack placed a biotic field around the mercenary, suspending him in mid air. Legion quickly picked up his Widow and turned back out the window, firing shot after shot into the floating body.
"Legion! What are you doing?" Shepard yelled as the rest of the team looked on in shock. Tali ran up the stairs, activating her omni-tool, ready to hack the geth and stop his rampage. She opened the door to the room, and instantly stopped in her tracks. She lowered her omni-tool, and looked over at Shepard. Shepard looked up to Tali, watching as her head slowly fell, shaking back and forth.
"What is it?" Shepard asked, his voice worried. He ran up the stairs, and looked into the room "Mordin! We need medical help, NOW!"
Mordin jogged into the room, immediately going to work trying to help Charla. Legion's fire had stopped; he had used all of his thermal clips on the floating mercenary. He dropped his rifle and stared at the deformed and destroyed body that was still suspended by Jack. Even Jack was in shock at what she had just witnessed, but eventually she let the body fall. Legion stood still, continuing to stare into the space where the body had once been, his head flaps returning to their usual position, his eye remaining in the same narrowed form.
The team quickly moved out of the way once they saw Shepard running down the stairs with Charla over his shoulder, her blood running down his back, as Mordin continued to apply medi-gel.

plus he has the drone and you can upgrade his shields.

You'll have to wait on that. Don't have time to finish the epilogue right now. I may be able to get it up tonight, but it wouldn't be before midnight probably.
