I'd just like to add a link to a chapter of a fanfic called Exitus. The chapters are centered around different characters, this chapter I'm linking is centered around Legion before he met up with Shepard. It is without a doubt the most interesting interpretation of Legion I have read:

Aw, no one even made a comment about this.
So I had a friend read just that chapter because I
knew he would hold absolutely no criticism back, and I wanted to know what he thought of the depiction of Legion. He didn't disappoint.
First of all, he has this dislike of writing an alien that compares itself to humanity to the point of obsession. I never thought of that, but apparently it happens frequently. He used Legion's describing of running, specifically comparing it to the difference in how an organic runs. Why would Legion even consider the difference? My counterargument was that Legion actually is pretty obsessed with humanity, but we both ended up agreeing how Legion would "voice" that obsession would be handled differently. I don't bring it up as a criticism that I would fault this story for, but now I wonder if I'm going to start noticing it
all. the. time. But it's the criticism of Legion's runtimes that were the main critique, as it appears to contradict Legion's own description of how it works. The depiction of consensus among the runtimes actually has more in common with how Legion describes consensus among organics: each individual offering an opinion and then being compelled to consensus based on an evaluation of those differing opinions. Legion's description of how geth come to consensus would imply each runtime considers the available information and end up with the same conclusion.
Also, the depiction of each runtime as its own voice capable of reasonable thought also contradicts what we know about how geth sentience/processing works. An individual geth is little more intelligent than a VI. Adding geth to the network allows the sharing of processing power until you have enough geth networked to develop an intricate processing state that computes as an AI. There is no many voices among many runtimes. Many runtimes create a single voice.
So while I still love sinvraal's story, I have to agree with my friend on how Legion's runtimes should work differently than what's been depicted. My friend did praise the dialogue most readily. Everything sounds like something Legion would say. Everything sounds like what Kaidan would say.
