Xbox 360 Awakening Install method?

Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this. I'm unsure whether to download Awakeing or pre-order the disc from retail.
My question is will the retail disc version be basically a disc based DLC install?
Much akin to the Oblivion & Fallout3 GOTY Editions, where the Expansion discs were installed to HDD as DLC.
Thanks for your time everyone!

Okay, thank you very much Victor!Victor Wachter wrote...
For Xbox 360, you will need to have the Awakening disk in the drive to play Awakening. If you want to go back and play the Origins campaign, you will need to insert the Origins disk. You will also need the Origins disk if you want to play any of the Origins DLC.

What about us in the third world countries (UK in this case) with our poor PS3 consoles? As we can't get a disc for it

The Gamestop.com listing mentions that Awakening requires a Hard Drive. Is this an mistake on their part or will I have to try and free some space on my 20 gig

Well I'm glad someone finally commented on this... But is this a straight play-from-disc like any other game, or is it just a disc check in addition to an install on the HDD? And if the latter, how much disc space is Awakening going to eat up?

So since this is my first time and, you know I'm kind of dense, when I pop in Awakening, I'll select which character saves I want to use and fire up a new game. And I won't need my original disc for anything so long as I'm just rocking out to some sweet Awakenings, yeah?
Insert Origins disc, select New Game.
Choose Campaign: Origins or Awakening
Insert Awakening disc
Import character or select Orlesian Warden.
But will I have to start with the Origins disc everytime I want to continue playing Awakening? Could become a little frustrating.

What about the PC? Does it also require the Awakening disk?

I dont think it will work like that. Awakening is most likely started on its own and has its own meny. If it hadnt, why would Bioware have so much trouble transfering the dlc stuff to the expansion?

My understanding is that when he says Origins DLC requires the Origins disk, he means DLC that directly affects Origins. We've been told that Awakenings in no way changes Origins, so it doesn't count as Origins DLC like RTO.

Will Awakening be sold on the Xbox Live marketplace as a DLC, or is it disk only?

But you need to have Origins to play Awakening.
If, as suggested, Awakening will start up straight away, why is owning Origins a pre-requisite?
I believe it will, although I can't back that up.Dave of Canada wrote...Will Awakening be sold on the Xbox Live

Edit: I can back that up. From Awakening FAQ:
2.8 – Will Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening be available through
Digital Download? Will it be on Steam again? (Back to top)
Yes, Awakening will be available on Steam and via other digital
download services. It is also available for download for Xbox 360 and
PlayStation 3. In Europe and other PAL video/game region countries, the
PS3 version is only available as a download.

Where is it crystal clear? He dosen't say you need Origins to play Awakening, he says you only need Origins to play Origins DLC: ie. you can't play things like RTO on the Awkenings disk. If it required the original Origins disk, Victor would have probably come out and have said so. Unless you have another quote from a Dev?

My apologies. I meant the part that was crystal clear was that to play Origins DLC you need to play the Origins disc.SwordsmanofShadow wrote...

And I think you may be right on the other point too. I assumed being an expansion, rather than a stand alone game, that you would need the Origins disc.
However I can find nothing to back my statement up, so it appears I was wrong on that.
My sincere apologies for any confusion or irritation I have caused.
