After 2 years or so the book has been kicking around i've finally had the occasion to read it:
It was in its entirety enjoyable but the narration failed to convey more than a sterile atmosphere of recounting events (except when bones start to break and projectiles fly, then the pace gets a bit more intense). While the story provides additional background—mostly on Anderson & the Alliance, the Council & Saren—it doesnt really make full use of Mass Effects potential epic scope we have seen in the games of the franchise; maybe i just have this impression because i've read the books after playing, you tell me.
I'm moving on to Ascension and i have hope that it stirs things a bit more, events already being set in motion.
Thank you.

I red the book too, but I founf it pretty good. U just need to read it like "silent before storm". That something mysterious is going behind and that it's not the ordinary mission for Saren like before. Also I found very good part of it when discussing about Anderson and Kahlee. Many good points were told. I also have some opinion on that too and that is, that the tale was maybe too quite and too slow. But that doesn't matter, couse the tale was great for the start of the events of Mass Effect >)
