@ Maviarab

So you think that because the game was originally intended for PC, that consoles should not get equal technical support?

I'd like to make some constructive arguements here but I think it's quite obvious that this opinion of yours is more than bias.

So here's my arguement...

STFU YOU MORON.

The game DID release on console. Intended or not, there should be equal support or people like me just won't purchase them for console anymore. Make sense?

It would make sense for the consoles to have equal technical support/patches etc   Yes.

As for telling someone to "stfu"........we are discussing problems here not personalities...right?   If one has to resort to insults to get a message across..the message is lost ..while the insulter is highlighted as less than intelligent.

Okay back to the discussion.   IF this is a "new" area for Bioware...IF this was originally only intended to be  a PC product.....and then EA happens along, takes over Bioware, issues a new edict that multi-platform is going to happen......

Bioware as the child of the parent company has to comply.    That of course doesn't take into consideration any bugs, mess ups...delays that are going to happen while this knowledge is being accumulated and applied.

People having hissy fits on forums ..and ignoring information offered up...just don't make sense to me.

It would be helpful if more reading and research by certain concerned parties ..was done before they come on here...shouting how they have been ripped off and led astray ..by that "ebil  company"  Bioware.

If you want to shout at anyone...shout at EA...but I warn you ..all their customer support resides in India somewhere. :P      Been there done that.   Threw away the t-shirt.

Yay for EA making Bioware bring DA:O to consoles! If only EA owned Blizzard, we might be able to see a console version of Starcraft 2...

OT: Bioware should give consoles the same tech support as they do for PCs. The noticeably worse graphics and fewer tactical options in the console version are excusable, but there is no reason (besides blatant favoritism) to pander to PC users and leave us console users high and dry.

I totally agree with the OP here.

The console support for this game is pathetic.

I want to play a rogue as well but can't because of the dexterity bug.

I haven't even bought ostogar because as far as i'm concerned they should patch the game properly before bringing out DLC
I just hope mass effect 2 gets better support and quicker patches.

I sometimes wonder why I come into the forums at times....*sighs*

Is this really the level of education and intelligence in the modern gaming generation?

Proof?

I'm not saying I don't believe you but i've noticed there are a lot of threads mentioning the dexterity bug and from what i've read on those threads the bug was only fixed on the PC version  not the 360 version.

Now if it was fixed on the 360 then where are the patch release notes for the 360 version?

Its really disheartening the way things for DA:O have gone for the 360.

When I was younger, Bioware changed the way I played video games with KOTOR. Then there was Jade Empire, and Mass Effect. Those games were quality in game play, spellbinding in storytelling, and (in comparison to DA:O) relatively free of problems. I had always thought of Bioware as a developer with standards.

This completely changes that.

I don't care how good sales for ME2 or the Awakening are, I won't buy anything from Bioware anymore until I'm convinced once again that they care about the maintenance of the products they put their names on.

To do so, they must fix most or all of the problems that plague DA:O and give some indication that they actually give a crap about their fans/customers.

Lulz. Ummm... no. The update that came with the RTO release only fixed achievments and the spec. bug that came with the first release of RTO.

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/67/index/762329/1

That thread has a dev stating that they may never fix the dex bug. Notice the date of the post, it's after the release of RTO. Your just clueless dude.

Again, you're assuming that what the PC users got is something you don't have already; DA patches for PC lists the PC fixes, and also states that Xbox 360 and PS3 got some of them when the game was released. I think what Victor is saying is that Bioware is looking into things and will fix it if it isn't working as it should.

Hate to say it Mav, but you are wrong. There was no fix, and Wachter has admitted that they have not even talked about a fix for consoles yet. There may not even BE one.

I also think it is pretty out of order for you to come into the 360 tech support forum and criticise people for actually quite valid complaints which you can frankly have no idea about, since, as you keep merrily boasting, you have the PC version. Yes, very good... you're clever, we're stupid.

However, people need to understand that the delays for PC gamers are not console gamers' fault, and further, the lack of support for console gamers is not PC gamers' fault. Platforms should be irrelevant, since, as somebody said in an earlier post, BioWare released the game on consoles, and therefore should be providing adequate support for consoles.

There is no defence, seriously. You can't lay the blame solely at the feet of EA, or of console/PC gamers. BioWare get themselves and us into this, and it is just as much their fault as EA's. It is disgusting.

And well done, above, for the refund :)

Edit: And Maviarab, just so you are 100% clear on this... there have been NO patches for consoles, except the Achievements fix (! like anyone gives a **** about that). Save games are still corrupted, dexterity is still ****ed, and there are plenty of other bugs that I personally have not experienced that have rendered the game unplayable for many.

Considering that you don't have the xbox 360 version registered. I'm going to assume that you haven't even played the 360 version. The dex bug has been with xbox users since day one, it's been common knowledge that it hasn't been working.

Not everyone can afford both PC and Xbox360. Being one of the few that does own both PC and Xbox360, I will say that it was very foolish for me to have purchased the Xbox360 version of DA:O over the PC version.

The reason I am so upset is because I shouldn't have to take a $40 loss while trading-in the Xbox360 version for the PC version, ultimately paying $100 to play the game as it should have been played in the first place.

Will I ever buy a Bioware game for Xbox360 again? Nope.

So, what do you do if you own only an Xbox360 and not a PC? Sorry, but you're pretty much screwed this time around.

My suggestions are:

1) Don't ever purchase another Bioware console game.

2) Rather than purchasing the next generation of consoles, perhaps consider investing the money into a PC.

Considering that this "equality" problem has been occurring in more multi-platform games than just Bioware's, I think this is going to be a huge problem for both Sony and Microsoft's console system sales in the future...and in the end, these are the two companies who have the final say in what games will be produced for their console platforms.

If, in the future, people are buying PCs rather than Consoles just to play the better version of multi-platform games, well...you can see where Sony and Microsoft might be upset.

If you want equality, we just have to voice our opinions with our wallets.

And @Feraele,

I tell Maviarab to "STFU YOU MORON" because he is clearly a fanboy and biased to the topic.

Rather than get into a huge pointless argument that spans six pages of these forums and perhaps to the end of the universe because he feels like sharing to the world that his PC is the greatest thing that ever happened to him and his unborn children...

...I just tell him to "STFU YOU MORON", it's much quicker that way.

I kind of agree. It doesn't make sense how PC players got an almost immediate patch while console players are still waiting. It's just not fair.

Personally, my most hated bug is the specialization reset glitch.

I'd have to say because a company like Edge of Reality handled the port to 360 and PS3 would sum it up.
Take a look at Edge of Reality's company site, look at the latest games they have worked on like Over the Hedge and Incredible Hulk, whoever made this choice to go with this company to do the port since BioWare was unwilling should do a bit more research before handing a product of DA:O's caliber over like they did here.

The lack of support is the main reason why I'm trading my copy of DA in. I don't expect anything too spectacular from the expansion as well as the sequel. The overpriced DLC and measly "updates" doesn't do much to make me keep the game.

Hehe, I was thinking the same earlier. Well, I will remember them. Perhaps they should change their companies name before their next release. Wont buy anything from them again. Concerning Bioware...well...lets see. But no ME2 at me so far and I dont feel the need to have it immediatly and right after this post :)

There are other good games out there. Its not just about EA and Bioware :) Thanks god :)

Even if Edge of Reality did the port for this game, they are not responsibly for upcoming patches, are they? Bioware need first to address the issues and then report it to Edge of reality, so they can begin the port, right?

But the answer for the "no patch for the console, but only for PC" is that, sadly, DAO is mainly focused for the PC gamers and not to mention that its much easier for the developers to make something for that system and just release it instead of going through a long check/port prossess.

Annoying since both 360 and PS3 versions had higher sales.

We don't all have the option.  I personally am on disability which leaves me with only the equipment I already had.  I was lucky enough to already have an Xbox but my PC cannot run games made post 2001.
My biggest complaint is not even that the fix is taking so long, it is that we have not been told IF there will be a fix.
I believe it is Bioware's responsibility to make sure the game works as advertised and promised.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Are there actually games out there for the PC which are worth the expensive upgrade?
I dont see anyone. With XBLA we xbox-users got better stuff as on retail games very often recently.

I think that you get certain bonuses with the pc like the toolkit and the ability to add third party mods, not just the dlc from xbl. Also if someone fixes a problem before the developers you can grab that fix/patch instead of waiting for an official one to get through all the red tape at microsoft. Myself personally, I'd rather have the pc version but like a lot of other people I just don't have the money to upgrade my pc.
