I feel that awakenings will be rushed and not worth the starting price to have so I probably wont get it unless by some chance it has import/export tools i dont already have.
There is another thought about DLC content. Ive owned a pw for over 3 years now. lets say i decide to take away all dm given items and epic quest rewards from players one day. Think that might cause a bit of an uproar among my players? For any Bioware staff that read this think about that carefully

The way I see all this after reading the thread is that the people playing on xbox and ps3 will really get the short end of the stick here and not so much the pc gamers. The reason is the we modders and scripters will eventually be able to bring the dlc into the game and if we want to write our own expansions takeing into account storylines and romances then we will. We may eventually be able to use awakenings as a base and rewrite the conversation scripting to account for DAO storylines. The box players wont be able to do this.

So you're OK with the idea that they sold us content that we can't use in the expansion because they're afraid of losing money? How much do you think they'll lose when nobody buys any future content because it won't be compatible with past content for the same game? And how far does it go? Is it OK to also say that when the next expansion comes out that you can't import from the previous expansion, or you can but you can't take any of the stuff you earned with you?Liso66 wrote...
We are starting to beat the dead horse. And trust me when I say this.. I do understand where you are coming from. It is not those who paid for the goodies. I have ALL DLC content. It is those that have not paid into them. EA doesn't want to risk giving anything away if they potentionally have more buyers lined up... I am seeing this from EA's perspective.Shouting my annoyance over not getting my DLC items will do no good. not when it comes to their profits. Hense, why I was trying to point out the reasons we won't be seeing them.. It is sad, EA is a publisher, not a game developer. Their mindset is way off on a different level....

No Metallicka. I am not okay with it. I just see the reality of it all. This expansion came out super fast. I do not think EA is looking for best gaming experience for players. I do feel they are looking at the $$ signs only. At a business standpoint, this is how I see their tactics. I do not like it in the least. I do however see things from both sides and try to understand..
I'd much rather have all my warm fuzzies, my romances, my endings on the main game to apply.... Many if not nearly all would agree. However... my comments were not my point of view, they were drawn from the logic behind it and EA's tactics.
I hope that makes sense anyway. it is nearly 1 am and my pillows are calling me.. Good night everyone!!

I swear, if I load up Awakening and NPC Alistair calls my PC 'Warden' instead of 'My Dear' or 'My Love', I am going to march my ass up to Canada and someone at Bioware is going to get slapped!

I was looking forward to Awakening untill i read the FAQ for the game. In my opinion Bioware would have been better off not letting us know what is or isn't in the game and avoid all the backlash. Awakening doesn't seem like it is up to par with other Bioware games. And yes, for $40 this should be considered a full game. I believe Awakening needs some more time for polish (romances and the items issues) and it could be great and worth the money.
Well... $10 less then a full game, but close enough to seem to expensive I agree. I won't pass judgement 'till released, but the story better be DAMN good to make up for the price and lacking content.

Well... since Awakening takes place about 3 months after the Final Battle in DAO it looks like I'm still planning my wedding when the new threat is revealed.... and Morrigan is just beginning to "show" a bit (she's probably resting and recuperating at the moment so doubt that she would be fighting any darkspawn) well let's just see what happens.
3 months later? I thought I read 6 months? If that is the case, I can see where this is going for my PC-Queen and King Alistair. If their wedding has not even occurred yet in Awakening, the game dev will find some way to do away with that storyline completely now for future titles. Oh, that's just fantastic.

Now.... total kudos would be to get that wedding scene after you once again save Fereldon! I am such a girl some times....

Quite contrary, I appreciate them telling us what to expect. After reading the FAQ, I decided that I need not bother with Awakening, and I'd rather find out about that before I pay for it than afterwards. Paying $40 and then having to put up with Oghren playing a "major role" would have been beyond frustrating, to say nothing about losing the romance my character worked so hard for.
