I am stuck for 4 days now  trying to open the door  (on the horizon colony where Ashley from shepherd's
former crew is located and the collectors have attacked the colony ) and just after acquiring the
collector particle beam ) (this is the one that requires that you collect matching pairs of symbols to open the door ). No matter what I do I can't get everything unlocked before the timer expires .I have unlocked 2-3 pairs of matching symbols but the timer shuts me down every time before I can finish .

I acquired the security hacking upgrade that is supposed to double your time to respond from Omega and the upgrade is not working .It has changed absolutey nothing in the gameplay .The timer always runs out in under 30 seconds .I checked the time before and after acquiring the upgrade and IT IS THE SAME .I have no extra time to complete the task as a result of the upgrade .Why is the upgrade not working or doing anything ?I thought that was supposed to be the solution for this problem .


This effectively makes the game
unplayable .I have spoken to other people who said the security hack
worked for them but it has changed nothing for me and I am effectively prevented from continuing the game because of this .I have been so frustrated by this I
don't know if I ever want to play another game like this again .

If anyone can help, I would very much appreciate it as without help I can't continue playing mass effect 2.

The bypass upgrade is on Illium, if I remember correctly. The hacking upgrade is on Omega. The matching symbols minigame is bypass, picking the correct code is hacking. Also, I don't mean to be insulting, but I've never purchased the bypass upgrade and have never had problems with bypasses. It's 4 pairs of matching symbols, it honestly shouldn't take more than 10-15 seconds.

Thanks Cloondog .I will check for the bypass upgrade that may be what I need .I checked numerous forums and websites before and no one mentioned that as a separate upgrade apart from the hacking upgrade. I may also need to check sensitivity settings on the xbox 360 controller as it did not respond quickly either when zooming over the pairs or when selecting pairs to match .There was a delay each time. Could not get the controller to react faster.

On the PC it's 5 sets of matching symbols, not 4. And it's impossible! My wife and I have been trying to bypass that very door for hours now. I'm starting to hate this game. This is way the heck too hard. My shoulder and wrist are aching from the exertion.



I've managed to do the bypass minigame successfully many times, but this particular door has way too short of a timer. I've gotten 4 circuits connected numerous times, but I'm always one second away from the 5th when the timer ends. GIVE ME SOME OMNIGEL!
