Can I ask why it's called "Dragon Age: Origins Awakening" and not "Dragon Age: Awakening"?
Aren't we done with the "Origin" thing? Isn't that's why we begin Awakening at Level 25?

I figure its to delineate the fact that Awakening is an expansion pack to Origins that requires Origins to play. Whenever they make a true standalone sequel is when they will add a new title after Dragon Age:

This is unrelated, but i'm not sure where to ask, but is there any news on another Dragon Age novel by David Gaider? The Stolen Throne and The Calling were AWESOME.

OK, you can all jump on this together and tell me how blonde I am (cuz I am...lol), but WHERE can I buy the books?  Are they online only?  Are they available in stores like Borders?  And do they complament the game or is it that the game was made because of the books?

Also, where can I go to read up on DA2 or is there an official announcement that there will be one?  I have TOTALLY enjoyed the Origins game, and even though I am a little dissappointed that there will be no romance in Awakening, I am SOOOO looking forward to it's release!!!!  I can live w/o the dlc gear as I saw the sneak peek preview from Friday and can't wait to get in there and see what kind of kick a** gear and weapons they have devolped!!

i hope they put 6 character slots insted of 4. It really annoys me and limits the character choices as you always have to have 1 rouge slot wasted, i honestly hated both rouge companions and they both sucked in cobat in comparison to others.

It looks interesting, but it seems a little rushed out too. I mean no romances, its like saying you have not commited the party at all about personal choices in dialog also.

I don't understand the people complaining about this. I am definitely looking forward to this expansion, especially after reading the Dragon Age novels. I really recommend reading them before you play the expansion, as there are characters in the novels who make an appearance in the game.

The Reason i complain about 6 insted of 4 slots is that the game is basicly limiting your options to having

1 spellcaster
1 fighter
1 theif
1 plot person, depending on the scenario you usually need to take someone

So by not having 6 slots, it limits the games stratergy by making the 4 characters as strong as 6 characters. When there were 6 characters, every party member was not strong, you had to really focus with all members as their skills were spread out thin. With Dragon age now having 4 strong party members, limits dialog options and limits combinations. You also miss out on 2 more opinions due to the scenario.

I will be interested to see these new dragon age characters, however i still think Bioware was to a degree rather stupid for not sticking with the Forgotten Realms.

Why are guys pushing the disk so much? *who cares* why did you not focus on promoting the DLC version? You never did release a detail page or sticky of cost and date you could download it from Xbox Live Market Place or PSN Store

I was really looking forward to this game until I tried to import my character and pretty much none of the stuff I had been using for the last 8 levels of DAO came across. Why charge players good $$ for Premium downloadable content and then not allow the items to be used in the expansion? I am VERY disappointed. Also, the game is very buggy. When I went through the door where I first met Anders, I re-met Anders, again and again. Then I left the area and met him yet again. Also, when you click on a companion, they just make repeatable comments - NOT conversations like in DAO. So far - not happy with this game at all.

when i import my character everything came with it... even money...... but there were some technical problems..  the most upseting purt is thet they could of done it so much better if they just took lil more time to work on it...
P.S. some people are complaining about romance and i have to say, specially to men, it;s not only about romance, smtimes it's just nice to talk to our companion and get to know then or here some interesting stories, that's more realistic then blindly go and kill

I will be waiting for a Steam sale to pick this expansion up if at all. And this coming from someone who bought a new gaming pc for DAO.

Once I learned that previous relationships with party members don't carry over I lost most of my interest. I don't like all that time spent building loyalty (and developing romances) with them being flushed down the toilet just like that.

And no dlc armor import?  Epic fail guys.

OK--for those of you having issues with their items importing. I lost quite a few things at first myself, but I realized that one of the issues is that if you have a weapon in one slot and a bow/crossbow in the secondary weapon slot, the system screws things up and you loose your weapon(s). Load your character in Origins and remove the bow and then save. This takes care of the weapons issue. I however do not have a solution to the Warden armor not loading. However, I got everything else to come over by just making sure it was in my inventory instead of wearing it when I made the crossover. I think part of the issue is the fact that it is trying to modify the armor for the new armor runes and it just fails--maybe?

All my weapons transferred fine.  My sword and my bow.  The only things that bothered me was that my DLC items did not transfer.  I was running around with a greatsword and a loincloth at the beginning.  Also disapointed that I did not have access to my chest of items after the ending like I did in Origins.  Maybe there will be DLC for Awakening and that feature will be added, I dunno.  But Now I know I lose access to my chest at Warden's Keep and my chest at The Vigil's Keep.  I know you can't please everyone but it seems a waste if you cannot keep what you have aquired.  I imagine I will lose the things I've collected in Awakenings when venturing into anything else afterwards too if this is a sign of things to come.
