What's with all the crying in this thread? Who cares if you "wasted" $5 on dlc? Cheapskates.
The expansion is looking good, BioWare
I hope it has at least half the amount of hours of gameplay as the original... and please reconsider romance in the xp

how is it not worth investing in??? at least 15 hours of completely new gameplay, story etc , 5 new npcs, new locations, new abilities, new monsters - whats not too like?? if you don't like then don't buy!
it makes return to Ostagar utterly pointless, I play RTO on xbox 360 before it died on me. Now I play everything on ps3 (more reliable lol)
Imho anyone who is still complaining because the ps3 still doesn't have RTO I seriously wouldn't worry about it you get approx 30 mins of new gameplay and some new armour and a sword - which apparantly we hope be able to use it in Awakening anyway.

Yea I noticed all the crying too. Come on people!!! DAO is amazing! Atleast to my hubby & me.
For the little bit of $ we paid for the expansion.. it was well worth it...even if for some reason we can't carry over certain DLC items.. big deal.
I also am getting the impression that Awakening is not meant to be a direct pick up from every story line that occured in DAO. I think that will come in DAO2 & we will hopefully get re-united with our "romances" & companions. I'm thinking that Awakening is more like my person traveling (which I said I was gonna do anyways) & taking on new areas & meeting new people, problems, ect. Hey for all we know this expansion & our current DAO stories might merge together & form a more complex HUGE DAO2.
Either way I know we are anticipating Awakening.
Yea, I hope BioWare reconsiders the romance thing.. however, I seeing how the majority of our companions are off doing their thing for now & not going to be in Awakening.. that would be hard to do huh?
Atleast for my male character who is in

Just wanted to switch topics a bit since I am tired of complaining about what Awakening will be lacking. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on the new companion Anders? I watched the trailer and actually quite liked him, far better than the female Velanna. He seems like he would be quite interesting (too bad no romance options) The screenshots of the new environments look fantastic as well. I am just tired of all the negativity and wanted to talk about something else for a while.

When you pay extra money for additional content and then someone says oh no you can't use that anymore, I get annoyed.
But you're right, that's quite enough whining...
Anyways, Anders, I thought, looks too much like Alistair. Can't see enough of Velanna to comment.

My own personal feedback. Take it for what it is worth.
The decision not to include the DLC or continue on with stories of the original companions is a major disappointment to me as it violates one thing that Bioware has bee known for - story. How does gear fit with the story? Every time I see the Warden's Armor or Starfang or a myriad of other content from the DLCs of DA:O I am reminded of the memories in getting it - an important part of the suspension of belief for me.
Others are correct, this is not an expansion. An expansion expands an original game in all aspects. And for Bioware, their number one focus should have been story. Awakenings breaks this on so many levels it is more like a separate game than an expansion.
As for not including the DLC, I'm sorry but personally I view it as a cop out. It is not that hard to have a loot index in the Awakenings files themselves that if you previously had the gear, you have it in Awakenings.
I will still buy Awakenings, but it will most likely change my previously very high opinion of Bioware that they have rightfully earned from past games.
Finally, one last point to ad in not including the DLC, what about customers who purchase DA:O after the Awakenings expansion releases? What motivation will they have to purchase DLC knowing it is invalid as they progress through the story?

How can you say something is amazing when it's not even out yet? I have faith in Bioware but this expansion seems to be getting pushed out too quickly, and probably why a lot of this stuff isn't being addressed or supported.

i loved the game but why end it there and to take away all my armor and weapons and throw me into a world butt naked and say kill that guy comon my guy is strong but would you go fight the darkspawn in your underwear? from my point of view they killed the game with all the stuff they left out and they way they ended the game comon what is wrong with you guys you dont end a game in a half assed expansion cant talk to any of your party and romance any of them giving them gifts is pointless why did they half ass it...
what do you guys think?
