Wow. Page five was totally pointless.
Well it did show us that this Howe doesn't like killing, even if it is Orlesian "filfth".
I think it's supposed to make people reconsider their prejudices aobut the character.

He finds violence distasteful at least.

But he didn't kill anyone. He just scarred someone in the face and kicked the other unconscious.
"I strike where it will be felt most keen. It is enough".
He is damn good at fighting, but he didn't kill. At least not yet.
Or he could be saying that those 2 don't deserve the privilege of being killed by someone like him. Which would be arrogant even by my standards. We will have to wait and see

I think the reason he isn't killing the guards could be a number of reasons, if your infultrating, not really wise to draw attention to one's sell by going on a mass killing spree.
It's obvious he skillfull, what better way for one to disgrace a commander of a well known group, to kill it's leader without killing the guards.
The hallmark of a skilled assassin.

Well he sure goes out of his way to make sure they aren't killed. He hit them both at least twice, when during that time he could have slid a knife into their neck or forehead. Of course it doesn't mean he doesn't like to kill, but in his situation it would probably be more beneficial for them to die so they stay silent while he's being sneaky. Apparently he's not bloodthirsty. He might even be somewhat noble, if only misguided and possibly arrogant.

We already know he doesn't like killing. Page three. He bests his opponent, but only knocks him out. Again, this just seems to be pointless filler.

Actually, it just makes him look like a puffed up arrogant twit, who I will enjoy making into seat covers.

To kill him, maybe , to save him , No way.
As you can see he has a hatred against Wardens. He thinks wardens took over Amaranthine by force or something or something bad happend with the rule and he thinks Order has been corrupted.
He is a skilled rogue even for a Warden standarts ( which is high by looking Skillls not origins )
The last page will show his ''purpose'' for infiltrate the Vigil's keep. And the outcome. My guess wil be he willl captured just before assasinate his target or after assasinating him/her. And the Commander of the Grey Wardens ( who is us ) will decide his fate.
Another possiblity that he will escape and we will encounter with him later on. But I support my first theory

Considering how important dogs and especially mabari are in ferelden society, I found this guy's derogatory remark about mabari rather surprising to be honest.

Good thing I wore gloves.
Nothing personal, but I hate putting my hand in other people's mouths.
Probably why I didn't become a dentist.
